I'm genuinely concerned about what is going on in Rito's mind

Prequel : assassins actually assassinating marksmen, so enchanters supports are being broken

Prequel number 2 : nerfing assassins and burst mages because they can actually assassinate marksmen, and since they can't do their job > read "First" while keeping enchanter supports in the same state

First : marksmen being broken (well I'm crying all day about it on the boards)

Secondly : So we have to buff tanks so they actually aren't meatshield (dealing more damage)

Thirdly : Buffing tanks means fighters / juggernauts will have a hard time laning against these tanks, since they can deal damage too while being tanky.

So instead of going back to step 1, Rito decided to allow to every single fighter to actually deal true damage (Fiora has been a problem BECAUSE of her true damage, and making itemization irrelevant against people taking conqueror).

What is the next step ?

The next step is to have Shaco one shot any squishy that fails to react in .25 secs.

Find out what busted shit gets through next on episode 54 of League of downsyndrome.

Only a proportion of people can actually react within these 0.25 seconds, and even if they react before they die, the effect won't change.

Always and only money, from which only mediocrity can be created. Riot has become just another soulless corporation now.

You mean like a chinese corporation? Tencent?

Nothing goes on in their mind. That's half of the problem.

Riot is smoking some nasty shit.

But in truth I feel that Riot has lost it's heart, and by heart I mean their understanding, love, passion and drive that made their game a success in the first place. I also feel like they have lost their indie spirit in making games have become more corporate. I get it. Money is good, but when it priority over making the game better then it's gonna suffer and it's gonna cause a lot more trouble that it's worth.

I think money is irrelevant to the discussion. You don't earn more money on a poorly balanced game. People won't play it. It is actually worth money-wise to have a balanced game where people are happy to play and do not have problems with game state. A game that is enjoyable is profitable. People need to stop stigmatizing moneymoneymoney as a problem against balance. Balance is actually motivated by money needs and not the opposite.

And please do not bring the LCS argument. League is NOT balanced around competitive except for a few outliner picks. It's easy to see as the proplay metagame is incredibly stale and we have a lot of games in comparison which are actually balanced for proplay, like Dota 2 and I can tell you it's EXTREMELY FAR from League. Low elo pubstompers? 10x more efficient in Dota. The disparity is huge, but surprisingly, the meta is extremely varied in competitive... Well last time I checked, anyway.

I don't know those games sadly. Wikipedia told me MvC2 game was simplified to please a greater number of (casual i guess) players. Now the balance we currently have isn't satisfying casual players either, it's basically satisfying nobody. I don't see how a game that pleases less people is making more money than if it did please them. I don't see a magical correlation between "the game sucks" and "we earn more money than if it didn't suck"

Don't listen to the wiki. Seriously. MvC2 remained so incredibly popular that up until MvC3/UMvC3 came out, the game remained in EVO. Extremely popular.

You're making the argument initially that game balance is a reflection on how much money a product will make which is seperate from "enjoyment". I am addressing the matter of balance which is to say. Games such as MvC2 and UMvC3, SF alpha 3, and some card games were examples of games lacking in balance. They were extremely profitable, however, throughout the entirety of their existence. The enjoyment of the game is not necesarily linked towards the balance of the game, since one of the most balanced games out there, GGXrd 2nd, isn't amongst the most popular.
The idea that a balanced game = more money is not often true. Ironically enough, games that are imbalanced tend to draw more appeal initially due to how they are presented.

It would behoove you though, that in the future you do not rely on wikipedia. It is fine if you say "I am not familiar with it." and the person discussing it with you should explain it further.

it's just fucking stupid , if they just gut the stupid adcs and assains legit the only problem with this game is this two stupid classes they are always overtuned as fuck and unfun to play against since u get deleted in a second

if they gut adcs and assains tanks wont be a problem and bruisers will be able to live longer in oreder to do someting , and support items got buffed so hard is addition to being cheap while having like 5 passive to one item , sheilds still stack with each other and ardent canser still exist

why not revert , and oh not only revert at this point , make zeal items 3100 oh right can u tell me why static shiv +rapid fire canon still stack witch each other? and why static shiv magic damage are able to crit? and both of them works on turrets so champ like caityln abuse them the most in addition to her gaurantied crit wich also gives her alot of hp from fleet footwork rune wich also gives 30%

and as if things werent retarded they gave adcs a free bloodthirster (overheal) and u dont even need to build lifesteal anymore since u can get it from runes

the game is disqesting right now , dont even get me started on kaisa that get free stats and are abusing a broken items that gives tankiness and healing

They try to make lol turn into Dota 2 where everything is op but they fail hard at copying anyway. Btw conqueror doesn't fix fighting Vs tanks. Tanks build hp naturally so they counter flat true DMG of conqueror by default. Only few champs can actually utilize conqueror well. Vs tanks on legit bruisers it's sht.

Slice n Dice em3 votes

you can play a melee into ranged champion and not get fked like in lol. Dota 2 is a balanced game, sure there are a couple of heroes which are OP but they still do have counters. It's not like everyone has to sk the d1ck of one bot lane like in lol. there is invisibility then there is a fkin counter to that invisibility(dusk, gem, wards). Now where the fk is counter to kha zix, vayne, shaco, akali invisibility?

Next step is giving tanks an item that reduces incoming true damage by 50%.

Then realizing that they have the same problem with fighters again.

Then 7.21 Galio'ing every fighter out there so they pretty much become raidbosses.

Then realizing that supports needs to be stronger to counter these raidbosses and the cycle starts anew.

Conqueror is an abomination of a rune brought about by bruiser mains whining all the time.

It's been a while since we've had a fighter meta and we're not quite there yet even with the true damage, if that gives you an idea of how much power creep there actually is in the game. Champs have a lot of innate mobility and strong af damage, that's why pro play is so risk averse these days. Its more rewarding since a death gives away so much snowball and champs are able to kill each other quickly. We're probably going to see one again if the changes keep heading in that direction but so far it's making a few champs ridiculous with it and other's are just doing a little better. Other keystones offer similarly potent effects for damage.

Yeah, they sold out on Feb 2011, about when Season 1 just started, where Riot sold about 93% of their shares to Tencent. It's been 7 years now.

Huh.

Until Riot's Live Design Team develops a system that allows them to assess champion's strength based on pure numbers, the game will never be even close to balanced.

What they've been doing for the past 8 years are just band-aid balance changes. It goes like this "champion's strong -> they nerf it -> another champion becomes strong -> they nerf it -> They buff an item -> champion becomes even stronger -> they nerf the champion -> the champion becomes balanced -> they nerf the item -> champion is now useless -> they rework it -> repeat"

To me, it feels like they're lost the control over the overall game balance and now they're just trying to balance something without any real knowledge of what the changes are going to impact and that is scary.
