Permabanning champions "out of hate" simply doesn't happen in reality

Boards people talk a lot about permabanning Yasuo or LeSong out of hate, but in reality those champions are banned in less than 5% of games - even with Yasuo being in nerf-worthy state right now!

If ban rate higher than 30% percent persist over more than one or two patches, it indicates huge problems and is a massive failure on balance team side - something we hoped 10 ban system could protect us from.

Permabans are not the problem to be solved. They are a symptom - players community immune system response, if you will.

I'm not even mad - new system shouldn't make things worse than they are now. As a player, I'm simply dissapointed - and I think I speak for large part of community here. 10 bans were supposed to help a lot in case of patches with fucked up balance, but current implementation they only help marginally.

5% of all games? Maybe. 5% of League of Legends games? Absolutely not.

Well if I talk about permabanning Yasuo I am talking about banning him in every single game I play. What happens in other lobbies is something I don't care about.

at least you don't make it a public case

unlike the entire board that ask riot to nerf/rework yasuo because they ban him

riot doesn't care about what you ban they only care about balance, and will rework impossible to balance champions

They might look at ban-rates when considering game-health though (For example, they might see a high ban-rate as evidence for something being frustrating to play against)

The 5% is just a statistic my man, I'm a yasuo main and I can't play draft or ranked because someone bans him

yas isn't nerf worthy.

edit: other than that, yes.

He has nerfs on PBE, so clearly community and Riot both consider him to be.

Riot isn't always right about who they buff and nerf, and the community isn't either. Yas has got nothing but nerfs since he came out. How is it he keeps becoming op and nerf worthy?

Maybe, people need to play against him better,

Thats not 100% fair items also affect op/up as well as metas. Pre midseason no one really talked about fiora being op now shes being called broken having recieved no buffs. More than just the champ can affect if there strong or not.

I think fiora is a little overtuned. I think the heal on her ult should be only for her. It doesnt really make sense thematically for a fencer to be healing her team, and she can get it so easily in a teamfight by putting it on an out of position champ and then it's basically a free redemption.,

Because things happen to the game around him that give him an indirect buff. Lowering the cost on crit items for example gives Yasuo an indirect buff.

When was the last time that happened? The randuins change was an indirect nerf.

7.9 was the last time that happened, and thats about when the threads started popping up. Just over a month ago.

Banned in 5% of the games? That's simply not true.
