Smooth Out Essence Reaver

I did a fanboy squeal when I first saw this item 3508

But truthfully, this item is inferior to all the others of the BF Sword class. Yes, its base stats have the highest "efficiency" because it's slightly cheaper. But in-slot efficiency matters to players much more than gold efficiency does. It has the item 1038 commitment without the item 1038 payoff. It has the exact same build path as item 3072 , but since I can't combine it until at least my 2nd back (the exact same time I'd be buying item 3072 ), the time to really use it has passed.

Either this thing needs its own item that gives its Unique passive like item 3155 does, or better yet, make this thing steal mana/energy from champions on-hit. That would make this item what it should be. Get this little guy off the sidelines, Rito.

Don't leave him stuck at the kiddie table eating glue with item 3124 item 3056 item 3141 and item 3172

The problem with mana steal is a zed fighting talon.... figure it out. and also... NOOOO!!!! MY BABY!!! LEAVE IT HOW IT IS!!!! (although the lifesteal to 15% wouldnt make me mad, or even the Cooldown reduction to 15%, or that you get more mana back from hitting champions, but other than that...)

See, any of those would be fine. But I still think it really needs its own advanced item that gives the mana restore passive. It has already lost its most critical point in its usefulness by the time you can even get it

I see your point there, but let me give you an example... Lets pick a champ. Lets say Olaf for example. In my opinion, Olafs only problem is his mana starvation, and the slightly high cooldown on his ult and W. But since hes an AA based champion, there are mana items that are useless on him, and there is no mana regen item that benefits him. Introduce the item 3508 into the ecuation, and Olaf can lane and be out of base indefenetly. until he FEELS he needs to go back. and since his W gives him Boosted Lifesteal, the the bloodthirster is and Unecessary item.

Another example, although he doesnt have the same problems, is ADFizz , the problem with ad fizz is that he usually doesnt get CDR items, and fizz is pretty Cast dependent. In comes the reaver, and not only does his Coldown get reduced, but his mana problems mid-late game get fixed as well. (you have no idea how many times ive seen a fizz B on a fight, because he ran out of mana and he was getting focused XD).

Anyways, there are a lot of Champs who benefit so much from this item more than from bloodthirster, and actually, quite a few of them have Perfect sinergy with Both items combined. Like the mega Squichi high mana starved Talon (try killing a Talon who has both items plus a shitload of armr pen, Good luck with that)

Right now, from what I've seen anyway, there are a select few people who utilize the item, and I mean a very select few. Alternatively the item it used when someone is forced to back during an inopportune time, and falls short of the gold for Bloodthirster, but needs the powerspike now.

As far as champions who can utilize it well, I've built it on champions like Talon Ezreal Caitlyn MissFortune Varus Draven Jayce Just any champion that builds damage, and can chew through mana very quickly.

Honestly, get rid of the life steal and perhaps slightly buff the % ratio of the mana return. It's the mana bloodthirster, if you want life steal, go buy bloodthirster or bork. The people who want Essence Reaver tend to be casters, who wouldn't get too much from it anyway. Frig it, may as well polarize its niche, because as is its pretty bloody weak in relation to the other bf items
