Since reddit is otherwise occupied, can a Rioter please read my complaints about the Yorick rework?
When Riot reworked Sion it became clear that all the counterplay was in his opponent's hands. He could do very little to control the game other than hope his opponents didn't react properly to his combos/ults. As such, his winrate was tilted extremely hard towards low ELO. He was nerfed many times, became useless at high ELO, and was a dead rework to me.
Yorick seems to be going in the exact same direction. There doesn't seem to be any real gameplay in the kit. What does a bad Yorick do that a good Yorick doesn't do? What does a good Yorick do that a bad Yorick doesn't do? It seems the entire kit is about whacking things a lot, and hoping the golden math proves correct (Your Damage+Survivability > Their Damage+Survivability.)
Unless I'm wrong or I don't see anything here, it really seems to be a rather pointless rework. At the end of the day your only option when fighting Yorick is to hope your combined tankiness and damage beats theirs. There's really nothing you can avoid, there's little you can do to out play him. Ranged champions just kite, melee champions just melee. The wall doesn't even matter since melee champions will just continue to melee him. What does Jax or Irelia or Yasuo or Kled or darius or any of them do differently against Yorick? How is he different than fighting Xin Zhao or Garen who are reknown for their absolute lack of skill cap?
More over, how does this stop Yorick's oppressive laning phase? He either harasses you out of lane... or he doesn't and you win. His late game at BEST seems shit tier.
Even worse, doesn't it seem REALLY BAD RNG that graves spawn at random? So in the middle of a fight a couple minions die and I either get or do not get more ghouls based on RNG? Thresh's souls are different because they just stack up and don't impact individual fights.
