(poll) How many of you would play the previous versions of league?

I'm asking this cause i was wondering, if riot released a kind of gamemode that made you play on patch 0.0 and increase the patch by 1 every week, (so it would be 0.1 then 0.2 ect... keep in mind that i don't know what was the number of first patchs) so the OP champs wouldn't be the same everytime. You would play with the current version of the map/client/visual, and only balance changes would change

would you play this mode? WoW used to have a server that used to make you able to play the previous versions of the game. So that's why this question came to my mind

I would play it for the Nostalgia until people figured out how to abuse the old metas.

Over the time League players have gotten better and better and even more competitive. People say the meta became more stale because Riot got worse at balancing but it actually got more stale because players right now are becoming so good at this game and are trying so hard that when they would play on the old patches, they would only take a few months or weeks to figure out the most OP stuff and the meta would become even more stale than it is today.

You got to keep in mind that back then no one really gave a damn and the mindset was much more casual. We may be able to bring back the old game but not the old mindset.

If I could play exclusively on the "Cinderhulk meta" patch, I probably would. Or maybe one of the patches in season 2.

People always forget the growing pains this game went through, I have no desire to see Intervening Locket again or have Blitz grab>flash backward or egg Anivia only to have her TP away.

mostly because you don't care about balance, the game will always be imbalanced. so if the overpowered champs/meta change each week, then i'm fine with it, it's going to be so entertaining.

The days of ap MasterYi who could get quarda kills from just pressing q Or the Tryndamere who would spin into 5 champs and walk away with a penta kill Or ap Ashe who could take half the hp bar of a team with 1 global arrow

This would be awesome! Lets see what happens with season 1 Jax with dodge. Hextech stacking & healths for building ad & ap. Seeing if we go back to adc mid. Mage top. Tanks bot lane and junglers (ww and udyr).
Also how would everyone react to the 400ish health champs had at lvl 1. Or the low damage even with runes. And the fact that dashes/blinks were unhears of. What would the new skill level be? I mean in season 1 worlds. I recall top lane only had about 100 cs at 15 minutes. Most bronzes can do that now. Yep retromode to season 1 stats would be fun.

i started before the marskman update. around october last year. and that was my favorite time in the game. it has been too snowbally since.

Thats because of the ADC Meta xD They changed all of the assassin items to make them work on ADC's, and now you get 2-3 kills up in lane, its pretty much GG unless their team fight is better than yours, or someone on their team gets fed to delete the ADC.

Not to mention they added items specifically for ADC, more accessibility to crit. new Phantom Dancer OP, Increased damage on almost every item.

Nasus had this little bug where if you gave him 100 AP, his ult would do 105% of enemies' max health as magic damage.

I wouldn't. League supposedly is chasing the imaginary point of perfection, where everything is eventually fleshed out and works seamlessly, and balance is optimal. They don't (for the most part) invoke change for change's sake. Just because I don't like the current meta too much doesn't mean I want to go back to the old game, with those bugs and different stats and lack of certain champs. The old versions may have had their good parts, but I don't really want to go back to the tank meta despite how much I liked it.
Also, that would be very impractical to implement. Think about the Patcher, with every 2 weeks it updates both the client and the game. Just to have another gamemode, we would have to sit through that every week.

I'd play it maybe a couple times for nostalgia, but I can't imagine consistently playing the older versions. League was a real mess in season 1. There was ALOT of really frustrating things about the game.

I think one game against season 1 jax, or season 1 evelynn, and people would be a whollleee lot more grateful about leagues current balance. xD
