Hey, so, now that slows are an issue again... (Like Rylai's)

Can we buff Boots of Swiftness and give it some of its power back? I feel like I buy the things and it does no good or feels bad to play with. I realize they were too strong before but I think this would be a good temporary change at least.

if they were previously bought on too many people because of the general high movement speed they provided, then how about just solidifying their nieche as a slow counter, and increasing their slow reduction by 1% of every second youre slowed?

means if youre slowed long enough by a rylais or mallet abuser, the slow will eventually be negated, until youre not slowed long enough for the swifties to reset.

means windowed slows would still work pretty much like theyre doing now and have some effect, while swifties would effectively apply a diminishing return to permaslows.

unique passive - slow resist: movement slowing effects are reduced by 25%. gain 1% additional slow resistance for each second youre slowed. (resets after 4 seconds of not being slowed)

I think her damage can cover that regardless. That Q hits like a fucking plane.

shit happens. if she needs buffs as a result, then she needs buffs. but widely accessable permaslows are terrible for the game health.

item 3111 ?

nope.

tenacity only cuts the duration of cc (including slows) short by 30%. which doesnt do shit, if the slow is reapplied every second over an extended duration, before it can even run out with tenacity.

the passive is entirely ineffective in this case.

The issue with them before wasn't swifties being too strong. All of the other boots were simply too shit and it was the same with boot enchants minus homeguard.

Mercs: tanks don't need them, it's their job to soak cc not avoid it. If an adc has been hit by cc that calls for mercs, they're probably dead anyway.

Tabi: niche but a good pair of boots. Mainly useful for laning phase but drop off once you're grouping against mages.

Lucidity: cdr was was and is easy to come buy. Why get these over codex/shroud +sorc/swift/beserk?

Beserkers: they were fine.

Sorc: fine as well

Mobies: they did and still do need their base ms increased and bonus reduced so they feel less shit on anything but support. Or only deactivate passive on champ dmg

Swifties: not niche. Any champ could buy em and feel good. Many champs still do. Why? They cheap, and don't fall to shit like mobies.

.

Instead of nerfing them, they shoulda buffed all the other boots by 10ms perhaps? Because people valued the speed, not the passive cos that was just a bonus. This would've made the decision more about the passive than the speed.

.

Edit: boot enchants? Captain sucked. Distortion and furor were niche af and hg was free. Only one left is alacrity, the least shit enchantment not the best enchantment

Rylai's is the only issue with slows right now. Ashe recently got her slows on crits increased by 33% (double to triple) as she was failing to keep her enemies far away but still in range while actively attacking but when they were running, it was way too easy for ashe to chase down due to the duration.

Slows everywhere else, like Zilean, Orianna, etc, they're always either pretty minor, have hard cc over them, are on a long cooldown or are more problematic in length than strength.

Swiftness boots changes aren't going to solve much IMO, other than make everyone take it to counter rylai's, and screw over slow based champions that don't need Rylai's in the process.

Though I'm up for compensatory Ashe and Anivia buffs if something does change

The problem is these two items are meta item 3116 item 3022 , thus causing slows slows and more slows. Did I mention that there are slows?

Then nerf those items? Why buff boots to turn it into a must-buy item and gut Ashe, Anivia, Lissandra, Zilean and pretty much any other champ that doesn't build Rylai's?

Also I rarely ever see frozen mallet, IBG appears more often.

Honestly, I still find Swifties to be pretty useful personally. I like to run them with Stormraider's Surge against any champ with a slow being an integral part of their combo[Darius, for example]. Works out nicely when you run away at Mach 3 even through a couple of slows.

Yeah, but if they do that, then Malzahar win rate will drop to below 50%, because then the only item which gives him any semblance of viability.

Then again he got his month of being OP in 5 years, so he can just go to urgot level now. NP.
