Anyone else find ranked to be significantly easier when duoqueuing?

I've been switching between playing ranked soloqueue and duoqueue for the past few weeks and I've found that to a large extent the games in which I duoqueue with a friend are a lot easier than the games where I don't.

It doesn't have anything to do with having another person who is competent on my team, it literally feels like Riot deals me a better team and worse opponents.

Whereas usually it's a hard fight to get a lead and keep it when I'm soloing it almost feels like either me or my partner has to actively try and throw the game in order to lose it. Our botlane gets fed without doing anything or the opposing jungler is horribly incompetent etc etc.

Maybe it's just in my mind but it's so much easier to climb when duoing with a friend I don't think I'm gonna touch soloqueue anymore if this pattern continues. Anyone else having a similar experience?

Well the way I see it is that I duo with people who I am confident in, so that means if I can expect myself to do well also then there is only 3 randoms to carry and less risk of trolls or afks. But I also find when I duo with my regular partner I earn a little but less LP :)

Riot adjusts your effective MMR upwards when you queue in a group in any mode, so you do get better teammates (on top of one who's guaranteed not to be a troll).

Of course, you also get stronger opponents.
