So... how many more threads are we gonna get that lick the support's boots?
Not that supports shouldn't be recognized, but the sheer volume of threads that come up in the tone of apologists for anyone not treating the support as part of the team is pretty intense. Threads like the support showing how belittled they are, or the ADC showing how much of a snowflake they are for treating the support like an actual person show up so often it's actually starting look really creepy, as if we're starting some form of Civil Rights movement for them. "Supports are people, too!"
The fact of the matter is that any supportive role is likely to take less notice than the people on the forefront of the action providing the heavy firepower. You don't go into this role expecting much notice. How many soldiers' names are remembered throughout history? Generals, new recruits who performed amazing deeds of heroism, soldiers that may have to repeatedly climb the ranks and still accomplish great things, men who held down a single position against a veritable onslaught of enemies, or assaulted a place by themselves. Now compare that to the amount of nurses and medical specialists throughout history whose names have been remembered. The field medics who risked life and limb making sure that the people on the assault or defensive lived through their terrifying ordeal, crossing into the battlefield, possibly unarmed, to treat people who have nearly been taken from this world with weapons costing uncountable lives.
The number of people in supportive roles that we remember throughout history is dwarfed by the people who see the action and bloodshed first-hand. This treatment is, unfortunately, not new, and it's very likely that it's not going anywhere. Can we calm down the support threads a bit? It happens. All the time. It happens to the junglers, all the time. It happens to every role that their input is accidentally belittled or overlooked, all the time. I love my supports as much as anyone, but this is feeling like a hidden cult part of the League community.
