What if instead of full on reviving, Aatrox gained a shield equal to % of Well + % Bonus AD?

Brief stasis, maybe like .25 seconds

Something like 100% of well + 100% Bonus AD for 8 seconds

He sorta died, but the well formed as a shield protecting him from actually dying. He doesn't get his full health bar back but he has enough to keep fighting. This allows Aatrox to stay thematic while simultaneously giving Riot the ability to buff a lot of other aspects of his kit that they couldn't before because a 4000 health tank would just come back later if you killed him.

This also goes rather well with his W heal mechanic of tripling the heal when below 50% health.

Wanna give him better base stats? You can now. Wanna give him a better Ultimate? You can now. Wanna improve his Q and allow it to be so easy to cancel? You can now. ETC.,

You could also easily increase his AD ratios, base stats and the like across the board with this change alone. You could also lower the Revive CD, give more AS to the Well bonuses, reduce rate or timer of decay etc., **Why? Because Aatrox can actually be killed now. **

I like this idea. Too much of his power budget is crammed into his W and his revive passive. Reworking the revive passive would be a good place to free up some of that power budget and distribute the power gained in his other abilities/stats

What about when Aatrox hits 25% health the amount of blood he has stored turns into a shield for the amount he build up, like full blood bank would give him shield for said % and last for 8 sec and half blood bank lasts for 4 sec, and the amount that he shields the % increases with his the times he levels his R.

That's just hardcore nerfing him.

Honestly he needs incentives to build AD otherwise he just becomes another mindless Tank like every other Bruiser.

I agree he needs SOMETHING but his kit is just so, so wonky that it's hard to say what. He definitely occupies an interesting niche, the knockup tank who slows you from ranged, suddenly gets a huge atk speed, range steroid, can heal/bonus damage on melee, then suddenly he revives too. I agree removing the revive and replacing it with the shield could be something, but it could also be easily countered by a very fed burst mage. Just imagine Aatrox gets his "shield" as you see it, but suddenly here comes the enemy Leblanc, who double W and wham no more passive.

Thats no different than on live. As soon as you revive you often get melted again.

I disagree, the revive time is usually long enough for my team to cleanup, or at least push them back to where i can flash/Q out, but sometimes yea if you pop the passive in an awkward spot its wasted. I think his kit should be based around his blood well, and he does more and more damage as he gets more blood, and then his current ult effect activates when he get to 100% blood, sort of like shyvana ult, where the effect has no cd, just as fast as you build his bar he can use the ult effect, but move it to his passive, and give him an entirely different ult

While we're at it, can we make him a teamfighter and not a duelist?

His sustain makes him like impossible to 1v1 xD just give him a bork and a spirit visage and that guy won't die.

Did anyone notice how Riot removed nearly every source of grevious wounds from the game? It makes things a hell of a lot easier.

Aatrox is quite effective now as a stuck-in sustain bruiser; just enough resistances to stay alive, a bit of health, and then all damage to keep rolling.

Of course, his fighting existence is still completely negated in teamfights if the enemy team builds a single item 3165, which is why everyone is building him tank + bork.
