How do i beat nasus?

Zerenza··2 votes·3,060 views

I know this is stupid, downvote if you want but i litterally just had a game where i played as Galio against nasus in top lane. All i tried to do was bully him as much as i could to try and stop him from last hitting, but he still did it and healed for 20% of his HP with each hit anyway so it didn't work. He got a kill from a gank and ended up becoming unkillable.

I don't know how to fight nasus, i always just try to bully him to the best of my ability but he still farms, he still stacks and he still become unkillable every single time. Even if i get fed, he get's fed latter and becomes unkillable, i don't know what to do.

Galio isn't a great option against Nasus for two main reasons:

[1] Galio's damage is relatively low (especially since you built purely defensive items) [2] Galio shoves the wave by default

These two points mean than Nasus can keep the minion wave near his tower (since you auto-push) and sustain through your harass.

Generally, you want to keep Nasus away from the minion wave. If you can shove the first couple minion waves into his tower, they should bounce and start pushing to your side of the map even if Nasus tries to prevent it.

When the minion wave is on your side of the map, freeze the wave and harass Nasus when he tries to last-hit. This allows you to deny him gold and Q-stacks.

Galio is not that good against Nasus. He's better than most tanks due to the very high damage on his Q, but overall he's just decent.

The way to beat Nasus is to NOT push him to his tower unless you are going to successfully tower dive him. You keep the lane as close to your tower as possible (while not in range of the tower) and zone him off of minions. A lot of champions can zone him off of experience as well. Yes, you're going to miss out of some minions, but he's going miss out on all of them, which is absolutely devastating for him.

Why the fuck would you pick an anti-mage against Nasus? Galio is only good vs AP. Unless it was AP Nasus, doing that is pretty dumb.

Zerenza1 votes

In champ select sometimes you don't pick last, and sometimes your opponent picks after you so you don't have the choice all the time, though it seems you do.

Fair enough, I guess.

Honestly, that was sort of just a joke. Galio can fight an AD champion just fine. Not quite as good as he used to, but eh.

What really upsets me is that, where people would mindlessly stack MR on Galio before, they don't do it now. Before, building MR was dumb, and people did it. Now MR is so much more important on Galio, yet people don't do it anymore??? Why do something when it's not important, but NOT do something when it IS important? I just... Like, wow.

I usually only pick him when i know there's atleast 2 magic damage dealer's on the team and they deal enough to warrant it. That game i believe that i was forth pick(nasus was last) and i saw the enemy team had an Ekko, Lux and i think Ahri so i was like "oh cool, i can stack MR now" then they picked Nasus and Lucian and i had to buiild two MR items and two armor items(and a ROA cause i still think that's good for any AP damage dealing tank)the first armor item was because i had to lane against nasus so i started building Tabi's and after ROA i rushed Randuins.

The funny thing is that MR items are much stronger now.

Honestly, it seems like his core items should be along the lines of: item 3047 item 3111 item 3025 item 3001 item 3194

Though, he is rather strong against magic damage even without MR.

His W's passive shield and active damage mitigation make him rather difficult for a mage to burst down even if he just builds Armor and Health.

just go with some that counter him, Darius, Yasuo, jax,yi,

Yasuo and Jax are not Counters they are skill match ups that favor Nasus for the most part. Both of them are AS reliant champs and Wither is a direct Counter to this. Yi for sure is a counter IF he get's fed or power farms uncontested. Darius is also a skill match up that favors Darius but is completely winnable for Nasus if Darius doesn't get a kill before they hit 6.

play his biggest counter: e maxing olaf. then proceed to either barely win the first trade and snowball after that or die because his early game isn't actually as bad as people say with his free bloodthirster.

Nasus doesn't get his 20% life steal until level 13. Olaf is a skill match up for the Doge as well. If you can dodge the axes and not get perma slowed then Olaf will never have kill potential.

I'm talking about laning. e max and every time he goes into cs chunk him with the e. 250 true damage Nuke every few seconds is nothing to sniff at especially since after cleaver it goes up to 300 easy.

He still has to get in range and the E counts as an empowered AA which burns his mana fast and pushes the wave. I build Health first vs Olaf. New Doran's or a Ruby Crystal and stand in my minions if he wants to axe harass then he will damage all my minions for it and push the wave. After that I just build Thorn mail with a sheen and it's GG for Olaf. Like I said it really comes down to lane control and if the Olaf can make a perma slow happen with his axes.

olaf's e costs hp, not mana. and it's easy to get in melee range, just use it whenever he goes to q a minion, punish him for farming.

You are correct. I completely forgot about that. However I still feel my point is valid that the lane is skill match up. If Nasus can control the wave then he will out scale. If Olaf can get an early kill he will likely be able to keep Nasus from ever scaling back into the game. B/c Nasus doesn't have any skill shots, E doesn't really count, I'd say Nasus has more of the advantage to win the lane then Olaf. Much of Olaf's ability to do damage and stay close to a target his him hitting his axe and picking it up.

E alone is far more damage than Nasus can heal through. Stop leveling Q and pushing the wave.

I am not sure if this is referring to Olaf leveling Q or Nasus. Nasus can heal just fine through Olaf's E as long as he doesn't eat all of Olaf's Axes and keeps the wave close to his own tower. Olaf's kit pushes the wave by default. This match up favors Nasus overall.

Olaf does not push the wave by default. Like I said, stop maxing Q. Max E. Nasus cannot heal through an Olaf who is maxing E.

E counts as an empowered AA which will net him minion aggro and push the wave. The Axes go through minions for ranged harass pushing the wave. I would never stand near the Olaf if he was maxing E first. I would simply lose CS and guarantee the wave comes to me and then freeze outside of turret. If he wan't to lose HP for his E and take free turret shots and minion damage all the better for me. Then he will try and throw his axe to get harass from safety pushing the wave or missing if I read it right and he loses mana as well.

Healing reduction is going to be your greatest advantage with some pen. An early Executioner's Calling or Ignite are really powerful vs Nasus. Morello's if you are AP. Coordinated Jungle Ganks on him are super strong too especially in conjunction with the healing reduction options. Nasus is an interesting champion where he is not really hard countered by champions specifically but certain play styles, items or summoners.

The thing about Nasus is that there is no way to beat nasus by skill. He will still get a little farm, and eventually he will hit 600 stacks and start squishing squishies. This leaves you two options:

  1. Win before that point. keep him off the farm (your farm is less important than his lack of farm) and hope that your team can end before he gets god-mode

And my favorite:

  1. Tilt his ass off. Be an actual little b**** in lane. go out of your way to throw abilities at him, whenever, for no reason. See if your jng can camp your ass (no big deal if they can't, but helps), and try to get the man so tilted that he is actually unable to farm. It helps if you are playing quinn too. or teemo.

Well I cant imagine a Galio ever doing enough damage early to counter or beat a Nasus unless its a really bad Nasus. Here's my suggestions..

  1. If possible, counter pick him. Some of the better counter picks into nasus are Darius Garen Gnar Fiora Teemo Renekton

  2. Build damage. You're not gonna make Nasus back / miss farm / die if you don't build damage. he's going to get tanky, and there is nothing you can do about that. you may even want to build a item 3123 early to prevent him from healing himself by Csing.

  3. Bully him at all times, even if that means missing farm. That said don't miss ALL your farm, but if you can make him waste is mana by forcing him to use his E to farm minions, you know you're doing a good job of keeping him at bay.

  4. If all else fails, request/call for/beg for help from jungle or mid. If you're just out matched, or if its 25+mins into the game and Nasus starts to get unmanageable, or if you are a champ who doesn't do much damage, you're going to need help. Ask for it. If your team wont help you, then its on them when towers start going down and all you can do is stand there and watch.

You cant beat a nasus. BUT most nasus's are dumb and try to split push all game , so rush a teamfight mid and make so many 4v5's that you get super fed, enough to win before he realises it . TRUST ME . ALL nasus players never teamfight, they just farm all game . Or play an adc like cait /twitch, you can solo carry with these guys

RogueWill1 votes

Find your spike and go for an all in kill, if successful, repeat as soon as you go back to lane and push yoru lead. If not, just start grouping up, forfeit top outer turret and just push either mid or bot.

rework trundle1 votes

If you're laning against Nasus, take someone who can trade him and still be relevant past 35 mins (looking at you, Renek). When he comes to Q a minion, trade him. Chase him. There's nothing he can do about it, other than spend 80 mana to slow you down (that's the mana cost of 4 Qs).

Wind Whistler1 votes

lmao. Just play Urgot. He bullies everyone out of lane. That's why he's getting removed.

Build Sunfire's Cape. Nasus does all of no fucking damage against armor items.
