Basically it was the only thing that guarantied my relevance late game against all the bullshit true damage/burst/hyper carries.

yeah but now champs like yasuo and yi can abuse the AD on top of the rez
40 more AD on yasuo turns into 80 more damage because of his dumb crit
and on yi... with his atk speed, 40 more AD is also annoying.
just think about it
having to kill a yasuo or yi a second time because they're now buying the rez item that ALSO gives them more damage.
