I Really Would Like An Actual Explaination Of MMR

A real one. As in... a solid one. I want RIOT to actually explain how the hell it supposedly works, because it doesn't seem to actually work. We take three games, ran them real quick to see how the "New MMR System" is working, and it went like this:

1st Game: Admittedly grabbed a champ I didn't want, or really know how to play. Got auto-filled Jungle as someone who only ever plays mid or adc. Figured wth, might as well suck up the loss. Did indeed lose, as the top Chogath on our team took my red and golems every time they spawned. (Now chat restricted for 3 games for telling him to fuck off. My Bad.) I was at 0 LP with 0 losses, but I instantly demote down to 86 LP in B2. Who cares. (-24 LP)

2nd Game: Guy asks if he can go mid. Whatever, fine, he wants to go mid so I swap bottom. He feeds the Yasuo, but who cares honestly. I'm running Ezreal, and to be honest I could care less about a fed Yasuo. We win the game.

For my victory I gain 12 LP. Seems a bit off, but okay, I just lost double that. (+12LP)

3rd Game: Grab Ezreal again, and yet again someone asks if they can go mid. Again, I don't really care. Guy grabs Vlad, and proceeds to face check Ahri twice before level 3. The Janna in bottom with me keeps running into Alistar's face, and trying to AA Tristana. Neat, going to be one of those games. I manage to pull out a few kills, died right at 14:50 and hit surrender at 15. 5 people agree, since I'm the only one positive on my team by a very large ratio.

This time I lose 26 LP. Wait... what?? (-26 LP Not even joking.)

I would literally have to have a 75% win rate to climb. In a tier that I perform well above the average, and have a great deal of consistency in my playstyle.

Hopefully they fix this before the next season, or the entire bottom half of the game is going to drop out.

Here is my guess. They have done a sort of soft reset on MMR and they have made it so new accounts have Silver 2 MMR when starting even when accounts are placed Iron. Now the interesting thing is that their system also accounts for toxicity and if you get reported a ton it is like the social credit score in China, your MMR is marked for “not allowed to rise” and you are forced into the 50% winrate category. Here is the thing though. This season was the first season they took formerly toxic accounts and removed the 50% winrate que and you can only be put into that que for x (lets say 10) games if you are toxic now. So to compensate for this since games are now “fair”, LP gains MUST be lower since the 50% winrate is no longer forced and the games are “organic” if you are not in the forced 50% MMR punishment bracket. So yes LP gains are lower but riot actually is making accounts rise and fall to their true mmr, this combined with short games is making many players get to thier MMR quickly while it takes time for their “rank” to catch up. And since many smurfs were being forced to a 50% winrate in the punishment que it is causing havoc on the ranked ladder because many accounts were being “held back” from their true MMR.

Additionally when they removed the lower ranks from each division it messed with peoples LP gains because many of them had been “overranked” to start with.

Also surrenders were altered so if you surrender you lose more LP since people that give up do not have competitive drive required for high elo play and they are trying to fix the toxicity levels in high level plat-diamond mmr.

Also the system knows in advance if you should lose or win the game and if you lose when it should have been a win you lose more lp. Vice versa if you win when you should have lost you get more as well.
