If Galio Was So Effin' Great

Then how come I rarely ever saw him played and that he was rarely ever played at any level of play?

It's obvious and statistics don't lie. Galio in his current state was not satisfying or successful enough to merit player attention.

How long as it been since his play rate even exceeded 1%? His play rate, in fact, was on par with Yorick prior to HIS rework.

And now that Riot has put in the time and effort to provide him with a new look and kit in order to entice players into actually using him, all the ingrates come out of the woodwork and go on about how great Galio was and how Riot is just messing up again.

Well, too bad.

Baby don't get to have its cake and eat it too; in fact, baby shouldn't even be getting cake. But you'll be served your cake, people, and you might just find it delicious. So, how about you just sit back and enjoy the fruit of Riot's labor.

Oh, and that fruit happens to be free, by the way.

Galio was trash, the only ppl complaining about the rework are your average hipsters.

It's just a case of Loud Minority, it looks like a good and healthy change for the character. His kit was Archaic and not at all good in the current state of the game.

Obviously some people loved him no matter what and anyone can win more than 50% of the time on champs they master, so these people are going to be upset over losing their little thing. (and thats okay, understandable) but its not enough reason for Riot not not make a character healthy again

We don't care that he got a rework, we care that the rework changed him basically completely , and he is basically a new champion with a new role, and not the galio everybody remembered.

My reason for Galio being great before the rework is that his kit was diverse and fresh. Fresh being different from most playstyles. Diverse in terms of lore, personality and abilities. Galio didn't need a rework to be good in league, just some spotlight and a different approach to getting people to play Galio again.

For me, what galio needed was a ranged auto to be viable pre-rework. Not only would it have made his laning phase way better (as with melee autos he was forced to use his high-mana spells to wave clear), but it would've given his kit a pretty unique niche compared to other characters. He'd be a bit like karthus, in that although a bunch of things in his kit are ranged he'd want to get right in the middle of teamfights.

I'm actually fine with Galio receiving ranged auto attacks than melee attacks. Maybe ranged attacks in the form of morgana's autos or gnars'. They could also decrease mana consumption and adjust the ap ratios of his abilities to make him better.

I actually loved playing old Galio, he was a great tank support and having an AOE taunt and the Armor and MR steroid was a great tool. I can still see him being fun to support with, and I probably will, but good fucking god Rito, I just want his old W back, and for him to look halfway decent without having to get a skin. He's a gargoyle, now he looks like an angel on too many steroids made of scrap metal.

And those eyes. Those cold, black, dead eyes. They just stare into your soul. It's awful.

If it looks like an arrogant little brat, and sounds like an arrogant little brat..

i'm tired of these shitty threads cropping up every single rework

we have every right to criticize something, regardless of being a galio main or not. Riot should have remained more faithful to his original kit; he was by far the champion with the most salvageable kit, out of all these VGUs so far
