Am I the only one who thinks this is a bit harsh?

LOCK IT IN Bans and picks must be locked in. Hovering doesn't count! Failing to lock in a ban or pick will result in a dodge with a time penalty.

I feel this is totally unfair. There are so many situations that arise for many people when picking. Such as, picking your champion and leaving the room to get a drink/use the bathroom/answer the door/etc. Especially when using those extra 30~ seconds. Sometimes, temporary emergencies happen.

Then there is banning phases, which are times where I blank out and don't know what to ban/forget what to ban. Now, Riot is basically forcing you to ban ANYTHING if you're at this point, which can, well, suck...

But maybe that's just me.

It's happened to me during banning that I'm looking for Mundo... Mundo... oh! Of course, it's Dr. Mundo, scroll up... Darius, Draven, Elise - THEY DON'T HAVE MUNDO AND MY TIME IS UP QUICK WHAT SHOULD I BAN - team: wtf why did you ban Ez? Or I have Morgana selected, but then I realise the team doesn't have an adc(1), so I quickly switch to Jinx, the game starts lagging and... hey, I'm playing with AP runes. Flamechompers ftw!

Dropping the entire game just because you run out of time seems indeed a bit harsh, especially with three people banning now. If only one of those is slow to connect to the pre-game lobby, bam! Back to the queue. Where you used to have one chance in five that you lost your first ban if the first pick wasn't there yet, now it's three out of five that you'll get kicked. Not something I'm looking forward to, but I guess they have their reasons.

So, wait, you can no longer choose to ban no one? Because not banning is also a tactic. I played against a team yesterday who only banned one person, and then they took as many of the classic banned champs as they could. It was a decent plan, and they won using it.

You shouldn't have to ban anyone if you don't want to.

And having someone selected but not locked should count as picking when the timer runs out. The timers are already claustrophobic enough without making them even more stressful. Boo, Riot. Boo.

Just pick and lock in. It's not that hard.

This address the problem quite effectively of people who for what ever reason are afk at the Beining of the game. This force you to be more involved in the game, and give you the opertunity to learn who should and should not be banned .
