@Meddler questions regarding Illaoi.

The new changes to Illaoi are great, they have made her a lot less "build damage or do no damage." The W change is incredibly nice for her late game damage to not fall off as hard.

A few questions I have regarding Illaoi:

What are your thoughts on players maxing E first instead of Q now? Ever since 6.9 I tried maxing E first instead of Q and my laning didn't feel like it got nerfed at all, it got stronger. 6.11 has made it even poorer to max Q first as it barely increases the damage of tentacles.

Is it intended for her W to no longer deal bonus damage to structures with this W change?

Are you looking into nerfing her E damage early/mid game in terms of damage it echoes back? This is the reason her laning can be a hell, especially after she gets 3 points in E. Just from base numbers it echoes 35% current health damage which is huge early game. Nerfing the base and buffing the scaling would be a bad idea as it forces her to build more damage to be relevant. An idea I had was that the base transfer would be the same at all E ranks and only increases with Illaoi's level. Each point in E would instead increase the duration of being a vessel from 12 seconds at rank 1 to 20 at rank 5.

And the final question is how come you got rid of the Q slow?

Yea, its nice to be able to build a randiun and such and feel like the damage/tank tradeoff is better

The E change wasnt meant to be a nerf actually. it was meant to make it more managable for the opponents. so instead of running around killing tentacles for 1min, its just 12secs. however, them spawning faster and closer keeps the E just as useful as it was before, a Lane Bully ability.

They probably figured it would be a fine trade off. more damage on champions vs towers? i'll take it. Iceborn Gauntlet is a core item for me anyway.

The echoing damage i personally think is fine. Its not really a large amount of damage unless you cross the spirit with the target. and unless you're building a large chunk of AD, the E echo seems decent. As it is, it is a test. they can easily just leave the zone and just dodge 1-2 tentacles meaning your echo gave little value other than some time/pressure.

I dont have a PBE account, however, i did test a rylia on illaoi in a custom to see how a slow on the Q would be. It was amazing. too amazing. Between the Slow on the E and a slow on the Q and Iceborn Gauntlet for W. It was hard to escape Illaoi without some form of dashing/movement buffs.

If i remember correctly the slow on the pbe only worked on her Q, not other tentacle slams.

It was. the E slow when broken, the W slow from IBG and the Q slow (from rylia) made it hard to get away
