They literally cut 1/4th of the ability damage per cast, his pre-nerf rank 4 of the ability does more base damage than the new rank 5.
Honestly i find this hilarious, if a champ like lee were ever hit with a sledgehammer like fizz did there would be countless threads on reddit crying about it so much that it would be reverted, but since its fizz its fine for him to lose so much damage...

ap fizz never maxed W 1st he maxes E 1st
so with 100 more ap the damage evens out
however with shaco, they did the oposite
they nerfed assassin shaco (ap and lethality/crit) and made bruiser shaco the more viable option... sad really

its more reliable than E max, i mean now they are kind of going to be forced to max E cause W gains 30 damage per rank lul.

your missing the part where high elo fizz players where playing him as top lane bruiser
that was the goal of the nerf
and how they nerfed it did do the goal of nerfing bruiser fizz, with much less of a nerf to ap fizz, that actually becomes a buff late game

How much damage does Q gain per rank again?
I think it actually might be a thing to max Q second and W last, i mean w gives 10/30 base damage per rank up and +10 mana cost, it almost feels like a liability to level it up...I guess the CD does go down which increases the dps quite a bit but idk, dont see it ever being worth it to max first for sure lol.

Yes thats what i thought.
They should go from 0.9 to 1.3 or 1.0 to 1.4, basically every W rank would give him 30 damage + .1 ap ratio.
Now that would be an alright compensation, the way they did it was half assed.

Danjeng1 votesAfter browsing boards these past few days, it seems that Fizz players just love wallowing in self-pity, in that they can only lament on how these changes will destroy Fizz. I don't hate Fizz at all, but I will not deny that Fizz is overpowered. He's one of the best picks now, and dominates nearly every game he is in.
This is supposed to be a nerf. Many champions get nerfed with absolutely no compensation at all. Let me repeat, this is not supposed to be a beneficial change. It's purpose is to make Fizz weaker, specifically Tank Fizz, which nobody except masochists enjoy playing against. And it seems Dr. Mundo isn't META now.
You aren't being persecuted. Fizz will not be gutted. He will be perfectly playable after these changes. If you are truly a Fizz main, you will stick with him and keep persevering. I speak from experience. My main has been sitting under 45% win rate for over 2 seasons, and despite all that, received multiple nerfs to every basic ability until he sat at 38% just recently. But I don't bitch and moan about it, I just play, and I'm doing fine.

On a side note, imagine if Lee Q or W got a 1 second CD everytime an enemy was killed with it. I Guarantee you there would be bitching on both sides of that fence.

SirLapse1 votesConsidering it's common for every Fizz that I have seen (in my own games and even in higher elo games) score a free won lane lane at lv6 for playing properly and requiring your opponent to burn Flash immediately to not get bursted...yeah. Completely fair.
Typically in mid lane we have mages that can actually outharass him from the lane, but in top lane it's melee vs. melee typically and favors Fizz's trades. Only Darius really competes with the power Fizz has on his AAs currently. He's not unbeatable and eventually falls off, but it's just way too oppressive. If you've got beef with the AP required to make up for that damage then complain about that instead of comparing a lane champion to a jungler, since all junglers need early presence to even be viable.
Tacosrock1 votesI'm tired of all these Fizz mains crying about their champion being nerfed. He fully deserved this nerf and did not even deserve to have compensation, to be honest. As unhealthy for the game as Fizz is, it's quite smart for Riot to deal with him justly and swiftly until they can figure out a decent rework. Like seriously, quit crying and get over it. There have been many worse nerfs to other champions in the past. He deserved it, so so sorry if you're broken tank-assassin thing got crushed like it did.
