Isn't Azir too strong?

DropFill··7 votes·1,422 views

I mean, his early game is not godlike, but is not bad either. His late game burst + dps is just stupid. A good azir will farm safely early game if he is in a bad matchup ( even though I can only think about zed or fizz as a bad match up ). But since they are banned a lot, what do you do against azir? You either burst him fast or lose the teamfight.

this so much this, I play azir a lot and a lot of these champs give me a lot of trouble early game, also doesn't matter how you build silence, stuns, focus all hurt you just like they hurt every other ap caster

Zyra, veigar, vel'koz, brand and malzahar are bad against azir simple because they are immobile and they don't have high range. Kass will have problems early and if azir is good will ult him if he engages him after six. Ziggs, xerath and lux are the only ones who can actually beat him IMO, but he is much more useful than them late game

Zyra outranges him with plant harass. Veigar's stun outranged Azir and he can oneshot him afterwards. I'm not even sure what you're on if you think Azir outdamages Vel'koz. Brand pushes harder and bursts stronger at all point of the game. Malz literally just shuts down Azir with his ult. Kass has issues early, less at level 6, and none from level 11 on. And 'useful' is relative. Ziggs and Xerath poke better, and Lux has more utlity.

His Q has EXACTLY the same range of her Q. Her E is not hard to dodge at maximum range. Veigar stun has 650 of range, and veigar is going to be poked down all time by azir if he wants. His Q range is 800 and it is not like veigar will do anything to azir without farm, which will be hard against a good azir. Brande pushes harder? He uses be WAY more mana to do so. Stronger burst? If he is able to hit all of his abilities, which is kind of hard. There is no at for azir to take brand's whole combo when he can poke him down from afar. Malzahar is immobile and his ult is easy to stop. He also can get poked down easily. Kass can be good against him, but azir is much better in teamfights. Ziggs and Xerath can poke better, but with a good engaging team they can't do much against azir on teamfights. Lux has more utility, but more easy to dodge damage and less damage.

You know what I find has major success against Azir? Talon. Fizz. Zed. Assassins take him down hard, they typically can avoid his soldiers and can burst him down really quickly. Since his E is his only escape, which can be blocked if you get in the way, he stands there and takes it.

why is syndra not on that list.... Syndra destroys alot of mids if not all of them

Azir destroys Kassadin

Narasimha1 votes

You seem to have that backwards.

But in all seriousness, you did. Azir wins pre-6, though pretty much every mid does that. The issue is that at level 6, Azir can no longer zone Kass without putting himself at risk, and Kass's Q is sufficiently leveled to take most of the harass off anyway.

He's also probably the safest mid laner I've ever seen. Zones you 24/7 and the second you engage he has escapes for days.

Since he can farm from afar and still has an easy way to escape, I have to agree with this

I shall present you Riot's logic of 2014/15:

Is Azir a tank? No? Then he doesn't deserve to be nerfed and stomped on.

actually its this way. Is azir a melee/ad? no? hes balanced.

That's not even true.

You do to Azir what you do to every potent team fight mage. You focus him. Sometimes it's actually better to focus a mage like that first rather than the ADC.

His zoning potential is infuriating to play against...if he hits you with his slow, you're going to lose a lot of health...not saying he's invincible, but geez, he's hard to take down unless you're an assassin or a repositioning tank.

The problem is : some assassins may die to him really fast. Fizz and Zed are the ones who can kill him just because of they stay invunerable. Also, his waveclear is strong which means people like LB or kat have trouble laning and late against him. Even orianna doesn't have such zone potential ( but she is still op imo )

I hate Azir supports... The fact his minions are immortal is what makes him OP if he does get feed. They should give his minions 25% of his max health so it is somewhat fair.

His laning is insane. Never seen anyone with so much zoning potential.

yet another Azir op threa, he has a ton of utility, and people need to learn that he CAN kill, his soldiers do damage, so stay away from them. His Q length is from AZIR out, so if azir is close, he can q you, then e you. And there is a CIRCLE around each soldier painting how far they can hit you, and the posture of the solidier shows if they can attack you or if azir is too far away. Learn how he plays, dont just yell op cus you cant stay away from him and take him out when he is at his weakest.

jump ON HIM, and on top of his char, he cant e out if your on him, he knocks you up and fails.

hes an ap champ.. which obviously means hes balanced. leave him as he is - ap mains. let him continue making zed and every ad melee top even fucking more useless.

He is like a combination of Orianna plus heimer : his soldiers are like ori ball but with heimer's turret dps. It is stupid,.

I'm not so sure you know what you're talking about. Heim's strength comes from the fact that he can pop Zhonya's and his DPS is virtually untouched. If Azir hits Hourglass, thats 100% of his DPS gone. Also, he doesn't have near the utiltiy of Ori. He has a slow which if he uses wrong puts him in extreme danger, and his ult, which is an ult.

And heimer is useless late game because everything destroys those turrets.

massive mana walls means he can't be too aggressive or he gets all-inned. he can be beaten if you keep an eye on his soldiers and bait out his q, as it has a long cooldown and will force his soldiers into a possible unfavorable position. there's not much you can do about his ult save for flashing(but a lot of champions are like that) azir's moment of weakness is when he goes on the offensive, because he loses all escape potential when he q's soldiers to you, and loses all damage potential if you run directly at him after this. he can e you, but aside from ulting he has no other way of getting you back into the range of his soldiers short of waiting on a mildly long cooldown. you can't play passively against azir. you have to take the fight to his face. that's why zed and fizz are good against him(damage immunities sure do help, but even without them they'd still be good against azir.)

ti;dr just like an killing an actual emperor, you can't worry about the bodies he throws at you. your only real chance is to bumrush him and avoid getting mutilated on the way.
