@Riot there would be more supports available if dynamic Q respected your primary role

I would queue as top/support if it meant lets say 6-7 in 10 games at most I'm supporting. But being secondary support nearly guarantees supporting, and supporting 20 games in a row if I don't have premades becomes tiresome - we all know how supports get abused and blamed. And it also becomes boring, due to less diversity - I'm fine with playing Alistar but I'd like to play Teemo sometimes as well. So I queue as top/mid, even though playing midlane is now boring as hell due to dominance certain fun-ruining champs. But at least I have chance to play top every now and than.

So, more and more people quit supporting, making the problem even worse. Making your primary role more likely to be chosen if you are secondary support might actually make queue times shorter on average, by making more people wanting to support, although it might seem counter-intuitive at first.

You hit the nail on the head. More and more people quit supporting. I used to have it as my secondary. I don't anymore.

This, i was ok going supp once for a while, now i just set mid 2nd (even tho i suck at it) in order to avoid becoming supp main.

You are right.

I stopped doing Jungle/support because I would only ever get support.... if I would get 3 secondary out of 10 matches (7 being my primary) I'd be cool with that, but I have been forced to do Jungle/ADC or Jungle/Mid because Jungle/support is basically Support/support, the system is completely broken.

Agreeing 100% and upvoted... I main support... but sometimes I feel like doing something else...

Big surprise!

Team builder turns out to be better still.

There would be more supports if the people who played support wernt, still are by many, talked to and treated like slaves or a bag of wards. Also if the people who HELPED you win matches got recognition more often for being good at supporting.

The carry that gets 17/1/9 stats gets honors and praise and friend request, the support that 100-50 initiates, then CC's them so they cant get away, soaks all the retaliation for the first 6 kill of that carry so they get fed then goes on to get 2/3/31..... they get maybe an honors from the ADC they got fed... maybe.

There is just as much at play as being a good support, or more as any other role. You have to have the combat skills to face off in a lane with two people who can dive you and your lane is prime target for ganks. You need to zone the enemy ADC off farm, and stop the enemy support from zoning your ADC, you need to ward well to protect your lane, you need to know when you can roam as in will it be better to stay and protect the ADC or pincer gank mid with jg coming from top? If the ADC had to back, or died you may even need to be decent at last hitting minions that will die to the tower. There is no skill or mechanic in this game that the support dosnt need to know how to do, or wont be called on to use potentially in a match aside from perhaps efficient jungle clear routs.

Good supports who master their role help their team win in lots of small and many big ways, and at the end of the match, no one gives a fuck.

So its not popular for that reason, but anyone good enough at the game to do every support skill well, is also probably good enough and smart enough to know that carrying the game on your back is a more reliable way to win than doing an AMAZING job of supporting a fucktard who will never carry the match theyre in. Just like the runny liquid shit that is some peoples skill level at this game that que up as ADC, you cant carry them as support cause it just keeps slipping between your fingers. When the ADC starts feeding up the lane, then you die a few times cause youre trying to defend the turret, the rest of the team blames you as much as the feeding ADC its "BOT LANES FAULT!"

Support is also a role that needs teamwork, and most of the people who play this game are younger kids. Studies show (here come the downvotes, happens every time and sorta proves my point) that kids are selfish and self absorbed more often than not. This means giving up on the glory of carrying the match to "help others" isnt something they like to do.

Check my match history, I main primary support in ranked, secondary top, which means I main support in ranked. I have a positive win rate. STILL, I get ADCs that are total trash that talk shit to me like Im the problem in our lane. Id like to play top form time to time... but with the state of the support role, there wont be a lot of people trying to take it from me any time soon.

I think I'm the only one without the issue here... I go for mid or top. I don't mind getting either, as I have two mains in both lanes I want to master.

Zero Skill Tank2 votes

Yeah well the issue is not that you can't always get role you want to, that's fine. The problem is that because of supports shortage, when you pick secondary support you may well end up supporting 19 out of 20 games, you will rarely ever get the other role. There are many people who like supporting but hate supporting all the time. This is a problem only with support role.

MasterSomething1 votes

You do know if you didn't put support as your secondary or fill as your secondary this tends to not happen? Just saying- I understand wanting to do it a couple times, but if something keeps happening, maybe it's time to change it.

Zero Skill Tank2 votes

Yeah the thing is I like supporting more than other roles save for toplane. Right now system forces me to either play role I don't really like, or to support all the time.

It's not Riot's fault no one wants to play support as much as other roles.

Zero Skill Tank3 votes

I know, but current situation makes even less people want to support.

Correction: It is Riots fault no one wants to play support as much as other roles. They control the game. They can do what they want. They will let mid laners have even a possibility of using strong support items, but if a support meant champion becomes a laner, they get mega nerfed. Support is the only role in the game you have to get creative to carry with and requires exceptional game knowledge compared to other roles with very little reward.

I personally only play the support when needed. I have no interest in playing baby for my ADC. A new champion would probably bring popularity, but the the community decides what is popular and what isn't.

I play alot of support and honestly dominate most people who play it in normals because they are NEVER support mains, and its painfully obvious when that is the case. However, ADCs are known to be incredibly toxic, and atleast 1 in 5 games you get one that is just impossible to play with, so if youre playing support all the time...youre going to like the game less to be quite frank. Again, if Riot changes the dynamic of the support role from being something more than "Build locket and buy a sightstone or build alot of ap and fucking blow people up on Annie", then perhaps people would like it. It can get stale after awhile, especially when you lose games simply because your carries didnt do the job.

MasterSomething1 votes

Alright, I see your point there. Though, how could Riot buff support simply though? I don't wanna deal with another Frost Queen's mid meta, and if they go too crazy we could see entire support teams... Riot can do stuff to it, but my point also stands as well: The community decides what popular and what isn't. And among ADCs, blaming support is rather popular.

I am glad i am not the only one that feels corralled into Support every single game. It really kills that desire to support.
