Aatrox and the double judgement call

I think one of the hard thing about Aatrox is that so much hangs on very marginal judgement calls.

For example, if I am Riven vs say, Renkenton, you need to gauge how much damage you can do, how much health you both have, what if any of his abilities are on cool down etc and you decide if you can win a trade.

However with Aatrox, you have to do all of that but you also have to figure okay once he gets my health under 50 percent, will I be able to do enough damage and heal enough to counter his more damaging abilities and attacks? Will my attack speed be enough to heal fast enough?

Some of the very best games I have every played is where I was so in the zone I could make razor thin marginal calls where I know I can win a trade despite being at 25% health, or even 1v2.

But here is another problem. Your teammates don't know what you know. So when you make a spit second decision to engage and your team sees a wounded champion going to his death, and they hesitate....it really costs. When they trust you and go with you, you win the fight because you sustain and revive if needed. But all they see is a wounded champion who they think is putting himself in a bad spot. They don't necessarily know that every 3rd hit you will be getting 200 hp back.

I think the fact that self healing based on auto attacks is so integral to Aatrox, it makes it very hard for the team judge situations...because many times, with a different champion, they would be right not to engage with you. And being in bronze now in the new season, they often have no clue on when trust my judgement or not.

that is the nature of such champs. guess all you can do is just inform team mates. use aatrox with champs that synergize. like supports with shields/heals that can help you survive at low health.
