Anyone crunched the numbers on if/when supports should sell income item in favor of full minon gold?

Getting 9 gold for casters and 37 for cannons is just dumb af. Talk about feast or famine..

Supports on teams that are behind/getting snowballed have even less opportunity to generate gold as they're often forced off the waves and can't poke safely.

So until Riot un-fs this s I'm thinking it's probably better to sell your starting item at some point if you're teams behind or maybe even regardless of that.

Once you see your team "pooping" the bed, you might as well sell it and farm if you can. For one, they havent used any of the vision you have provided so far. Two, you need farm to actually carry. If your Ashe is 0-7, your mid is 0-5, just sell it and start clearing waves. It dont matter what you ward at that point they will die in vision.

It would be a really hard sell to just up and sell the item entirely that late into the game. You cant farm with the item, but you also get screwed if you sell it, because the item itself doesnt sell well and you do lose a lot of gold in stats.

Its really "damned if i do, damned if i dont".

You lose 240 gold as it sells for 160 gold. In the late game throw it away for a real item and then curbstomp the enemy team if their support is stupid enough to keep hold of their support item with inferior stats.

Its an immediate loss of 1700ish gold in stats. Its just RAW stats, so really nothing special for supports, but the likely hood of say, a soraka, getting that much CS in a game after the 30 minute mark just isnt likely.

Probably better to keep the item unless its before the first upgrade.

Does buying a new one work? If say I stacked the AD targon, then swap to the AP one.

Having a support item to tier 2 or tier 3, selling it, and buying another support item will automatically upgrade that item to the respective tier.

Am I misunderstanding how the anti poach is supposed to work or something?

Relic or whatever it is called shouldn't be triggering enough to get 20 cs per 5 minutes.

The passive gold income goes away when it upgrades to tier 3.
