Akali can spellvamp up to full health in a couple shots

I'm sick of seeing Akali spell vamp up to full health with just the hextech revolver, not even a complete spell vamp item. It's ridiculous that I can see her health bar go up in chunks while she attacks me. Akali is at 25% health, I'm at full, I go in, and I DIE. What???
