So we're just letting Rito get away with reducing vision by over 50%?

??? It sucks, I'm tired of looking at the map and only seeing 5-6 wards at a time(half of which are the supports) throughout the entire match, when I used to see 10-15 at a time, which even then did not come remotely close to lighting up every brush or fogged area. can we please rage more about this?

But if both teams have equal warding, how is the vision abused?

Same way any overpowered item gets abused. Both teams having access to an item does not mean all items are intrinsically balanced.

The comparison with just any other item is iffy because if, say, Phantom Dancer is OP, all champions "can" buy it but it's only good on auto attackers, so the item is effectively giving a certain class of champions an edge on the others. Wards have the same effect regardless of who buys them.

Yes, there was far too much vision last season (and vision was far too overpowered on top of that). The game is far more interesting when teams can't abuse overpowered wards to get full vision of the river 24/7

Oh yeah the game is SO interesting when smart players constantly play uber safe because they can't get the vision required to be aggressive without also being stupidly reckless

Wait until the LCS starts again and it's a turtle fest every game.

That isn't really true, champions who could ward hop, for example, had an edge when using wards when compared to other champions. No single item is truely exactly the same when used by all 128 champions in the game.

The bottom line, however, is that all items need to be priced based on the power they give. We can't make boots cost 200 gold and give 1000 movement speed, for example, simply because "everyone can use them." 75 gold was far too cheap for the power that green wards gave last season and they should have been priced much closer to 200.

The teams who rotate well without perfect vision will wreck any team playing uber safe. League is an objective based game and less vision does not means objectives are any less important. When the lcs starts again, teams simply will not be able to play uber safe and give up objective after objective simply because they have no vision. They will be forced to analyze the game situation without perfect vision leading to a far more interesting game to watch.

  1. Ward hop is still as accessible as ever since item 3340
  2. Haven't seen classic CLG games, have you?

We have. Didn't change. Their response was even less vision with blue trinket nerf.

just buy more wards

wait...

Look for areas where wards are best placed and where the enemy team seems to pop up the most on. If there's only 5-6 wards, it's a lack of your team placing them, not anyone else.

As if we could do anything about it.
