Nasus and Heimerdinger are the only chamoions that haven't been played competitively this season

This is what I've been told by a friend who follows competitive play across all regions, so keep in mind I have no source to back this up, but he generally knows his shit.

To clarify, I'm not actually requesting buffs for either champion either. It's actually not surprising, they're largely champions that just aren't good competitively but are good in solo queue. They're champions that are pretty easy to shut down if you're playing with live communication and the strengths they can bring are often performed better and more consistently by other champions. This is why I suspect they aren't played.

But it's interesting to know that of all champions in this game, all but two have not been played in pro play across all the different regions. It tells me that there is diversity in this game in the long run, but in the short not so much, which is obviously confirmed by different metas and often some champions go from no viability to totally viability because they are either incredibly good with what's meta or incredibly good against it.

I don't know, I don't think I had a purpose when I made this. If I'm wrong, please point it out. I just thought that was pretty damn interesting to find out.

But buff Nasus anyway

I'm kinda more curious to see who played Garen, I'm assuming it had to be post 5.16

i think there's a team in china that ran garen in one or more games around the time riven became a popular pick (pre 5.16) but i don't remember the name of the team or the outcome of the games

Taric was played twice this year. He won one game and lost the other.

Teemo was played in one of the promotional games. Yorick was played early in the season with a cassio I think? though I don't know what game. Urgot was played by Keane in one of their regional qualifier games.

Urgot was pretty damn viable for a while.

I'm pretty sure he still kind of is too.

Pretty much if enemy midlaner picks Zed.

Urgot was used to counter assassins if I remember correctly.

Taric was used as a counter to Kalista by Gambit.

teemo was picked at the beginning of the season

Yorrick saw play by the Unicorns of Love as a combo with Cass

Urgot has been an uncommon, but present competitive pick for a while now.

All of these were played this season. I can at least remember copenhagen wolves playing Yorick Jungle, and where have you been to not see Urgot? He was flavor of the month for a bit there, especially with Gravity in mid.

they need to fix nasus bugs first.

What bugs does he have? Just curious

if he switches targets, or loses his target because it moves out of range during his q animation, it gets buggy and the animation is executed in slow motion. its pretty messed up since it takes 1 or 2 whole seconds to execute. if you try to cancel the animation, it doesnt fix the bug. when you cancel and try to attack something, the slow animation just starts over. you either have to wait it out, or wait until the q runs out.

meaning whenever it happens, the enemy can simply kill you because you cant fight back during that duration.

Right now the (competitive) top lane meta is all about pushing your enemy to their tower and then teleporting botlane to win a teamfight for your team. Nasus is the exact opposite of this. He has no way of shoving his lane and frankly doesn't want to even if he could. And he has no teleport presence early game because he has no damage before he gets stacks and his wither really isn't a guaranteed kill, especially in competitive play. Even if he were to get to late game, fact of the matter is that he has no mobility and short range so against a coordinated team he will never get the chance to Q a prime target, leaving him to splitpush and since his waveclear is actually slow as hell an LCS team can punish him VERY heavily for trying to do this. Sorry but in LCS there is no breathing room for champions that do literally nothing early game and hopefully get to late game before their team loses. It's the same reason we haven't seeing a single devourer jungler in competitive despite everyone complaining about how "OP" it is. Pro teams can't afford to have a player farming the jungle the entire game and giving no gank pressure, LCS just doesn't work like that.

For reference, just look at that one UOL vs. FNC game where UOL Vizicacsi locked in Poppy top. He's well known for his performance on her and if Poppy gets to late game she becomes god. But Fnatic abused her non-existant early game and took the nexus in 19 minutes.

if veigar was used, was it during 5.1-2?

Heimer can be counterpicked - any long range ADC or mage can get rid of his turrets - he is also skillshot dependant for his stuns and ults. Also when was Trynda picked this year?
