Even a decent Ryze really helps out his team, I've played with a few, just don't be a total idiot playing him and you'll do great instead of trying to make big plays whenever your ult comes up. The difference between a good ryze and a bad ryze is whether he uses his ult to engage into a team or not.

Ryze is so weak early and his waveclear, CC, and dmg are all outclassed by other mids. He also has to get close to dmg with spells which is just way too dangerous right now with all the dmg running around.

The ONLY thing he has on other mid lane champions really is his ult (which you need organization to work around, doesn't happen in Solo Q).

Ryze can just go 0/7 in lane and still manages to oneshot the fed midlaner once he gets an item.

He also has one of the best early game waveclear in the game with his E/Q, especially at level 2.

Weak early? Ryze? I'd say the moment he builds tear or catalyst he's pretty damn strong. The difference between his cc and other mid laners is he doesn't have to aim it. It's garaunteed 2 seconds (if his e is on them) root. His damage isn't outclassed at all. I'd say the only person that doe's more near instant garaunteed burst is syndra. Riot even gave him the tools to get in close. He gains a shit ton of movement speed and a ridiculous shield without even factoring in stormraiders or seraphs. Ryze is far from weak at any point.

Yes and those 2 seconds will lower his overall dmg output. The difference is, he needs quite some time to deal the dmg. Where cassio is actually a machinegun. Viktor just bursts you before you even hit the W button. Anivia just stuns you to burst you and walks away. Leblanc is a skill matchup but usually in favor of ryze if she tries to go in. Syndra can poke him all day long. Riot really really overdid it with their current nerfs especially for soloQ ryze. Hardly a reason to pick him and hoping your jungler is not braindead and will help you snowball or if not pray to the lolgods the game goesto 50 mins so you are still relevant. Every other midlaner in the game gives you better powerspikes, zoning potential and more dmg upfront then ryze and is safer by doing so. Ofc in pro play he is busted where he actually gets peel and cover. Where games last long enough to reach his potential as long as their team doesn't get stomped. Azir syndrome all over again.

I'm a ryze main and I agree. You can play him really well but the problem with him is. In a Solo Queue/Duo Queue. No one ever does what Ryze needs them to do. He is one of the strongest Split pushers in the game. With 1 or 2 ways to get into any teamfight. From Tp to his Ulti.

But in professional play, the game revolves around what he can do. IN solo queue play the game revolves around what everyone else wants to do.

The skill difference between a pro and a experienced Ryze player isn't very much other than general knowledge of the game.

The difference, and notably the only difference I can see between the two are.

How much the game revolves one or two players on a team and the coordination of the teams.

So riot instead of nerfing the problem on ryze. Aka his ulti. They want to nerf EVERYTHING else.

I feel like I have to drop him as a champion now because he feels nearly unplayable without at least one other person who understand the full ins and outs to him with me. He takes 3 items to hit wake up and then even after that he isn't top of the line, going to insta kill your opp. He still requires good positioning and is extremely weak to CC.

Riot. Please. Fix. This. Shit.

Ryze and many other champions are getting outcrowded by the /ff15 because the games are extremely snowbally. Bot lane is in mid by 8 minutes, Top lane is in mid by 15 minutes, Mid is gone by 20 minutes. Baron shove for all three inhibs by 25 minutes. Game is over by 27 minutes.

What is a champion like ryze, going to do when his optimal build path is.

Tear > RoA > Morellos.

tear takes forever to get to 750 (hence why you build it first and hope its at 750 by 17-18 minutes), then you get a fully stacked RoA by time purchased + 10. Generally for me that is 13 minutes purchased and 23 minutes fully done.

So for ryze to make use of two of his items at max. He needs to get at least to 20 minutes. There is hardly any room left for error at any point after Ryze's wake up. At 20 minutes.

Just saying the state of the game just makes certain champions a handicap vs other champions.

nah he is completely balanced and fair chugging waves till he gets tear. then chug more waves till catalyst and then start oneshoting you with 2 mana items while he gets big ass shields and has 600move speed so even a fucking Yasuo can't catch up to him. But oh well pro's abusing him and having like 5-10 ryze onetricks in challenger is an indication of how horrid he is.

and the majority stay still during their combo not avoiding any skill shots with his speed boost, and pros do, his damage is fine but when pros can dodge multiple skill shots because of their higher mechanics WHILE dishing out damage, is why he's become a balance issue at higher elo

Ryze has a low winrate because many people are mechanical monkeys that don't combo properly, on top of the fact that his winrate is dragged down on virtue of being a 450 ip champ rising in popularity

the ulti imo is maybe used to move port several people 1/3rd of the time, the rest of time it's just used to fake people out or bail.

That's a good realm warp if NO ONE on ur team takes it. Instead you should ult there, no one take it, but walk farther south on the map for a flank after VK used his good abilities, if that's where you want to make a play.

Over all, I don't see any reason for either team to even try making a play there, since it isn't at an objective (bot tower is the closest, but if you're gonna fight over bot tower, then fight AT the bot tower tbh).

Edit: HOLY MOTHER OF HECK the Baron is up what are you even doing with a play like that, I'm dying :D

So last time I had Ryze mid, I was Taric top. I'm 3/0, teleport to drg to defend. Ryze watches the 4 of us get pounded while standing full health in the bush. I pop my ult to run onto my team, Ryze teleports me and him out of the fight making my ult only hit the two of us and not the support, adc and jungle. We wipe. He then decided to run back in and try to "clean up". The enemy melted him instantly.

It was clown fiesta in it's purest form. I hate Ryze.
