@Meddler I wanna talk about Thresh

Before any Thresh players get mad, let me start off by saying this isn't me wanting nerfs for him. It's more of a clarification than anything else.

So with that out of the way, let's get down to it. Does it bother you guys that Thresh is basically in every competitive game and quite frankly almost every solo queue game? It's almost always Thresh vs [fotm support]. While I think the support class is generally strong at the moment and their itemization is fantastic, I'm still not sure how I feel about Thresh knowing they're all pretty good yet he's still in every game.

I was wondering if this is kind of like the season3/season4 Renekton bar. Do you guys let Thresh be (and in fairness he's been nerfed a ton and rightfully so) because you figure he's the healthiest support in this role. What I mean by that is, Renekton wasn't nerfed because you guys felt like moving him back a few steps would allow some champions, with particularly less healthy kits, become top tier safe picks when they otherwise wouldn't be. Is that kind of the same for Thresh? Because I'll be honest, I'm much happier with Thresh in every game as opposed to Sona or Janna.

But yeah, just looking for a little clarity here. I don't think Thresh is overpowered, although you cold argue he brings too much stuff to the table (most of it has meaningful counterplay however). But it is kind of troubling that he's in every game and potentially crowding out other supports or other potential support match-ups. Just curious on your guys stance on this one.

i think thresh not being touched is because he is what a support should be a low damage champion that makes up for it in other areas in thresh's case he makes it up with cc and tank stats but in soraka's case she makes up for it with an exceptional ability to heal i'm pretty sure all the support nerfs recently have been just nerfs to their scaling and numbers

I don't have issues with Thresh but clearly he is by far much better than the rest. Janna was just nerfed but she shoudve been, she should never be a safe pick with her teamfightint power and utility. Sona is less of an extent on the same page but she's designed more for laning and more make or break on her ult. But her lane phase is pretty damn dumb when good so I would never want her to be the best. That's kind of my point in all of this, I'm wondering if riot leaves thresh in this state for this very reason because typically in other roles, they'd just nerf it or buff everything else (and most supports don't need to be buffed because they're already good)

you know. if you think about it. if riot put all of thresh's damage to 0. he would still be a viable support. because of his kit. leona doesn't compare.

Untrue. You would get rolled over in lane.

If he randomly lost all damage at the level 10 mark... He would be viable but certainly not near the top. He actually deals a fair bit of damage to squishies late game.
