So my mmr is G2 So I get matched with plats frequently and the community and toxicity is disgusting. Half of them just non stop flame all day long. The other half give up in the first 5 minutes

Low elo is ignorant.

High elo is arrogant.

Each comes with its own set of problems, but ignorance is easier to overlook. Arrogance is much harder to deal with, since it doesn't automatically assume ignorance, you can't devalue their opinions as much.

Overall though, each elo range is toxic and has different problems. Low elo's RQ more, INT more, but their rage is much easier to deal with, and it's easier to carry in low elo games even when you don't have a fully coordinated team.

In high elo you NEED your team much more than in low elo. You can still carry, but disagreeable teammates make the games insanely difficult. This makes the rage/flame seem worse, but in truth, I think that mid/high elo players are generally less toxic.

TLDR: Low elo rages more but it's easier to deal with, high elo rages less but because you need them, it feels like they're more toxic.

I feel like it's the other way around. I'm in Plat and people are way more toxic. The reason being that high elo players can point out other people's mistakes more easily than others.

You problem is that most of the plat 5-4 are just boosted bronze-low gold players. So they bring the low elo toxicity with them.

EDIT: I have few real plat players in my friend list and play with them normals on occasion. They are not toxic, but since I am low silver, they never listen to my shot call. Even if it's a good call, they never acknowledge that and do whatever. But that's a low price for having mates who (outside of the game) can help me get better with advice and answering noob questions :)

I feel thats a bad misuse of the word. Yes I notice alot that when im playing with platinum players they'll nitpick my plays alot, but a good amount of the time they arent wrong, I would have rathered them not point out my mistake but I wouldnt call it toxic.

Gold elo (gold 4 to gold 2) is in my opinion the best elo concerning player attitude (maybe high dia and master too but i don't really know): in bronze there are many feeders, trolls etc, people think they're in elo hell...they rage a lot and insult people... in silver people can't play as a team, they give up really quickly, will flame immediately when something bad happens, will ALWAYS blame others in plat people are arrogant, they think they belong higher (witch is sometimes true, but their attitude makes them lose), since people know how to snowball, the smallest mistake and they give up...

In gold people are rather cool. Most got to their objective, they will get the necessary rewards. people have a pretty decent level, usually sportsmanlike

I just got back into ranked this year. I mute everyone's chat and pings at the start of the game. The game is much more fun. Yeah, I made a post about removing surrender because too many give up at the first sign of trouble. As if all wins in life are supposed to be easy. I feel your pain man.

Dude, it baffles me how many people don't want to learn how to play from behind. Low-key I even think a lot of pro teams are the same way. They'd rather slowly lose and try for an early lead on the next match than actually try to run things back.

Muting all messages at the start is somewhat understandable, but muting all pings is just arrogant. Unless someone is spam missing you I don't see a reason to remove coordination with your teammates.

In my experience it's like this:

Bronze - A mix of people who play for fun and try hards who think they can never do wrong

Silver - People playing for fun who get a bit better and are slowly climbing but grow an ego because "hehe xd im not bronze, fucking bronze trash player hehe xd"

Gold - Pretty humble, chill, some ragers and passive-aggressive people. Most egomaniacs don't make it here

Plat - Good, but super ego, super tilted, and super hardstuck because now mechanics hit a cap.

I'm loving it in gold actually. People here are around my skill level, and it feels like I'm being challenged with decent opponents most games. Most people here take ranked seriously, but not too seriously (otherwise they'd be in a higher elo). I don't even know if I WANT to climb out. Platinum is a scary world.

Also, I think the gold border looks nice and warm, while plat seems cold and unforgiving green/silver.

I'm just glad I'm out of silver shivers. I thought I was stuck there forever. It's terrible there.

I agree, gold 5-2 in my opinion was the best elo by far (that I've been too). Most people in that elo are pretty chill and have decent mechanics/macro, but ever since I've gotten out of gold people have started flaming/afking a lot more... Feelsbadman

Platnum is unique. I've been here for 2500 games over my 3 years of playing the game.

In my first ever season (season 5) I placed Plat 1. 2 years later and I still end up hardstuck in plat until the last few months of the season. I consider myself lucky to get diamond last year since plat was quicksand.

In plat, you are either ahead by 10 kills at 10 minutes, or you are behind 10 kills at 10 minutes, there are no close games up here. Games are decided either in champ select or first blood.

Platinum is by far the most horrendous place to be, low bronze doesn't even come close to the cesspit which is plat. In plat there is a general consensus to not report anyone for toxicity because if people were to report each other for toxicity, everyone would be on at least a 14 day suspension at this point. There is absolutely no way for platinum to exist with the current terms and services if people reported each other in plat. My problem with toxicity isn't the fact that people are saying rude things, its the fact that they are typing instead of playing. Honestly I have never been offended on the internet, I just hate it when people waste my time by typing and having a debate while I'm sitting there trying to play the game. Oh, and don't think for a second they will stop typing, if 2 people start arguing on your team it wont end until you lose.

Enjoy gold while it lasts, I sure wish I could have. I have been submerged in plat for so long that I probably will be hardstuck here every season until I get lucky enough to climb out of it again.

I just made it to gold 5, and I can agree that the community it really different. I think the lower end of any division is full of toxicity because they are permanently tilted. Like yesterday I had someone insta lock Voli adc and proceed to have 7 cs by 10 minutes. Not every game is like this but it definitely feels like the competition is gone after ranking up a tier.

I moved into plat5 this season and can confirm.

Last game our ADC launched into a violent episode of word vomit before finally rage quitting.

Had a normal game where our Riven asked mid to swap since the enemy top was a Pantheon. She died 3 times mid then stood in fountain occasionally moving around so she didn't get the AFK warning.

It's a fricken NORMAL game. Seriously? Why not use it to learn to play against the Pantheon instead of asking for mid. Maybe start Doran's Shield and E to absorb his spear poke, if he's bad, he'll have no mana and you'll still be the resourceless Riven probably at full health.

Thats why I get gold 5, and sit on it. I'd rather play something and have fun (ARAM, or blind pick) or play a different game. Not worth all hassle, rage, hate, flame, a tough time to climb honestly. I don't enjoy it.

I just achieved platinum a couple days ago, and my experience is way different compared to all of yours. Everyone I play against or play with are willing to give me tips. I am plat V, but I am playing with gold 1's- plat 2's so that might be what the difference. Also my main goal of each game is to soak as much information as possible because people that I play with have much a deeper understanding of the game.

The matchmaking in that set of divisions is disgusting. You'll get shitters more than half the time, then other times you'll win 4 in a row. It's stupid.

The toxicity in plat is insane.

I had a game a couple weeks ago where I had a bad lane matchup and the other team had a high ganking jungler AND a top-lane Shen. Even still I managed to win in CS, but my team still flamed me for being 0/1 and not simply smashing my lane opponent.

Going even is simply not enough for plat. You have to be 15/0 or your teammates will think you're trash.

I have said this before, the best part of the community is on Silver. Those are the ones that actually have a lot to lose (no gold means no rewards, play bad means demotion to bronze). Plat and gold already have rewards, and thus feel like climbing can only be achieved by time managements so they only play games that they are ahead early game in order to squish more games per hour. Bronze feels like they will never make it to gold anyway so they troll or afk or whatever since they don't care anymore. And Diamond...diamond and beyond is just too small to call it a community, everyone know each other so you know already which teammates will be more likely to rage and flame.

plat players hardstuck or "plateaued" in low plat are some of the most toxic tilt inducing players i have ever encountered. they will flame you for the smallest mistakes instead of doing what they can to win the game. I feel you.

every elo is toxic. league is toxic. its a competitive game where your teammates can and will fuck you over some games. thats frustrating. people like to notice others mistakes rather than their own as well in any aspect of life.

league of egos is what I call it. and in each elo bracket it only slightly CHANGES. it doesn't get better no matter how high you climb.

in low elo you get people raging at each other for mistakes. in plat you get people who don't care if their team is fed, just that they aren't doing well so they spam FF every chance they get and essentially int by playing completely tilted and stupid. and from the very high elo diamond + matches I see it doesn't get better. if anything they all know when you make a mistake and they are gonna call your ass out on it. and not in a nice way.

When I was silver I would go against plats occasionall;y but bc my duo is g2 and I'm g4 we go against plats constantly. Platinums aren't actually as good as you think. Maybe p3-p1 but p4-5 are basically the same as silver 1 with better csing

Try playing in Silver when you are higher tier than that. You'll just quit ranked and want to set your PC on fire. 90% of games you're left to play solo for your team.
