Why is no one talking about Anivia?
Shes sitting on a 54.4% Winrate and a near 5-8% pickrate. That is really good, like REALLY good.
Is it just me that has seen her winrate slowly climb 0.4% winrate every patch for some reason.

Maybe because riot has nerfed a shitload of other champs. Thats typically how it starts
I guess, but shes still sat on a 53+% winrate for awhile now.
yeah like 2 seasons at least if were being realistic here.
What source are you reffering to? Since leaugeofgraphs is not showing 53%+ winrates on her for the last two years. She has her peaks, but nothing close to a stable 53%+. She does have a 53% + winrate since this year ( januar 2017), abut the time when they changed her e from being instant empowered with r, to get only empowered when q stunned the target before, or the ult is fully grown.
Even though that I agree that it was a necessary change which helped anivias role and made her more healthy, her winrate and playerrate was gradualy growing after the initial drop to 48% winrate she suffered, due to her playerbase adjusting to her core mechanics. (the ones she always had, but which got hardly used due to her e > r being way too strong)
The compensationbuff she received was her e and w cooldown getting lowered by a fair amount ( e from 5 to 4 seconds, and w from 25 seconds to 17 seconds, and her ult growth rate was doubled ( took 3 seconds before, now it takes 1,5 seconds)
Since her not fully grown ult dmg was reduced ( unchanged for full grown ult) the last buff was more a necessity, since waiting 3 seconds to use e would have been near impossible in most matchups. ( And keeping your enemy inside the ult)
Now, while her delayed e empowerment definetly hurt anivia. The cd reduction on w might have been too much.
Anivia is not strong in lcs, due to her weak early. At the same time, anivia is probably too good in soloq, since her catch potential with w got too powerful. Getting picks on single targets is realy valuable in soloq, since only in there such picks ( and also taking enemy flashs) is made easy due to the missing teamcoordination.
Anivia simply has a great tool to punnish those misstakes, and with the reduced w cd it got so frequent, that it can turn a game, even if her team was far behind at the beginning.
I especialy see this with the zz rot build some anivia mains have taken as the way to go, since they deal little damage ( 400 ap max), but since they pick out single targets in teamfigths, isolating the enemy making it basicaly 5 vs 4 or less in most scenarios. This is overall just punnishing enemy misstakes, but since it is rather easy and frequent, it probably is the reason her winrate got so high. I consider it a form of support, which anivia seems to excel at.
As anivia main ( for those of you who could not guess it by my name already) I am worried about her winrate as well. More troublesome in my opinion is her playerrate though. This growth shows us that either her opponents got hit so much that she simply shines brighter, or her strength is to overwhelming no matter how you look at it.
What bothers me the most is, that I do not realy understand this at all. I would prefer anivia to have a stable 52% winratio with 3% or less playerrate. ( For anyone thinking, "Why 52%?" Because she would be played mostly by mains, which boosts the winrate for every champ with a low playerrate, in her so called most healthy state I had a 65% winrate on her, and I kept this winrate since season 1, so I do not think that it is too far fetched)
But what I want to make clear here is, that she is not as much of a problem as some of the posts her want to make it seem.
i'm not trying to dump your champ bro relax, Champion.gg she's always holding high winrates. maybe not exactly 53+ but 51+ for 2 years isn't far from accurate.
At first my comment only included the first 3 sentence. But then I just went with it and made the whole comment about the threads topic. (Which I would have made anyway)
Probably should have split it.
Probably because she literally cant lose the laning phase. She is good against all types of champions with her immense range and ability to keep other enemies off of her. And if one somehow manages to kill her, she will just revert to an egg and give the enemy 6 seconds to kill her again after theyve already blown everything.
Yea I would really like changes to Anivia, laning against her is one of the less interactive things ever.
Early she has to survive and farm, nothing else. She can safely poke and farm with Q and E but she doesn't really care about trading but instead going even. Post 6 R, wait 3 seconds, wait another wave and repeat. If you're out of position and she manages to block you with her W you auto lose the trade because R+E= 50% of your hp (and also the R dot).
She's kinda like ahri but less fan service: Easy to not lose lane as. She doesn't have to win lane, just not lose it, and late game or with picks she can easily win the game.
She's one of the safest mid laners in the game with that passive.
Wait, ahri wins lategame? Please my dear, explain how.
Ahri wins mid game with picks or roams, its not hard to one shot a carry late game as ahri in a rotation or chunk a team with Q.
At 51.78% winrate 40+ she doesn't exactly fall off if that's what you're implying. If she just survives laning phase and gets 2 items she's strong enough to win fights.
thresh 54% win rate 40% pickrate,feel better?
Yes I love being outfarmed, outpushed, and If I step 2 pixels out of position I lose 60% of my HP in one combo. It's quite fun actually : ^)
malzahar gets near her, immediately gets nerfed, whereas Anivia is left untouched
Anivia is fucking aids to play against unless you were lucky enough to pick a ranged champion mid.
If we go by champion.gg they claim malz has a higher winrate than anivia actually, but I don't like it as a source of info.
The reason Anivia is so good right now is because AoE mages who have huge AP ratios are super meta right now - ADCs have enough defensive items to survive assassins, tanks aren't strong enough to tank AoE mages itemizing against squishies.
Heck, middlesticks is up there with a 50+ winrate, which is completely justified due to the huge amount of mains (2x average games played than the champs considered 'hard' like Yasuo and Riven). But even mains were getting 45% winrates, the meta changes literally brought them up from utter trash to decent/good. In fact middlesticks itemization is so bad their mains buy FQC and stack it late game when no one else does that.
Below them are AoE mages who focus on base damage, mages who focus on tanks with true/%hp dmg (and have no remaining dmg for squishy targets), and single target burst.
Riot should focus on dividing tank and squishy damage more, like how ADCs don't buy LW as a general item the same way mages buy Void.
Or maybe give them full AP items that focus on giving utility like Zeke's and Athene's to compete with AP damage items, so they don't step on assassin's toes anymore, I don't know.
