Because her W isnt like Cho's old E.

His was just a brainless small aoe poke.

Vi's is a 3 stack that deals a chunk of damage as well as increases her asp. It also stacks with her Q and E. It works perfectly with her kit right now. Cho's E didnt fit his kit at all and only served to push the lane.

EDIT: Also, where did they say they were buffing Vi?

IMO that is a good change.

Her level 3 is one of the deadliest in the game. But the later the game goes on, the more she revolves on needing her ult to make plays outside of catching someone alone.

Because her W is already extremely strong in 'burst' scenarios.

You change it like they did with Cho, and she'll be one-shotting everyone while building full tank...just like Cho, funnily enough.

who said you need to buff the damage? you can give it more utility for instance like cho slow

not saying vi W should slow, in fact it already shreds armor

however utility is what makes champions picked more in pro, and she's being buffed for pro

If you were going to change anything about her for utlity, it would be a microslow on W procs or E.

for the same reason you wouldn't do it for gnar their enitre kit is balanced around being able to combo into the proc, literally without the ability to combo proc that passive vi would be the worlds shittiest champion, the ult CD buff gives her power where she needs it the most mid to late game without needing to ruin a perfectly good kit, oh fyi your change would also remove her as a jungler because she cannot clear without that passive.
