We need to do something about feeding and LP...

When your mid laner says he's going to intentionally feed because yasuo was banned, there's not much hope for the game, yet you know he'll lose the same LP as you and not be punished. When your bot lane combines as 2 people for 19 deaths and the other 3 combine for 6, you can't win, but they'll lose the same LP as you.

Now im not saying you should focus on K/D/A or that ranked should, but someone who goes 3/10 clearly shouldn't be playing with people who go 4/4 on that same team against those same enemies. Yes, everyone on the losing team should lose LP, however people who feed extraordinarily NEED to lose more LP than everyone else, not only to expedite their demotions but also to just make the players who TRIED to win feel like it was worth trying. If top goes 9/3 but their bot lane went 2/20 combined and mid was AFK or intentional feeding, at least the top laner can say, "well at least I'll only lose 10 LP and thankfully I won't have to play with that bot lane again if they keep losing 30 LP for feeding like that."

Bottom line is RANKED has to rely on something other than a black and white win/loss where you only have a 20% affect on the outcome of the game, having 4 random teammates.

This is a lose/lose situation for all concerned.

  • People feel like their reports of blatant and obvious bad behavior are not acted on.
  • Boosting is a huge problem, so you get guys in Gold/Platinum in matches with people who don't even know what "oom" means.
  • Solo summoners hate winding up being the.. erm.. 5th wheel in a 4 man premade.
  • Innocent summoners wind up punished for the actions of trolls on their team (LP loss, tilting)

Some ideas submitted for the approval of Riot and the community:

Reporting

  • Better report feedback! Your report was accepted/denied because X, here's what we did with the reportee, here's your report weight

  • Summoners with high report weight who have proven that they can be trusted over a long period of time gain enhanced reporting powers. (Probably way too exploitable, but it's a thought)

  • Pregame/postgame reporting. Toxicity doesn't only happen in the rift.

  • Reporting and honoring should be allowed for some small amount of time (say 15 minutes or so) after a game's completion.

Matchmaking

  • People skilling greatly above or greatly below their tier should be subject to a placement series. This would greatly cut down on the impact of boosting and smurfing. "We noticed you're playing significantly more awesomely/poorly than others in your division - the results of this series will determine your new placement"

  • Inability to ranked queue with more one other person more than one division above or below them. Mentoring is great, bringing your four B5 buddies into your D1 match is not.

  • Games in which obvious, game breaking trolling happens should have LP and rank losses mitigated/reversed after the fact. For both teams. If you win against a team with an intentional feeder (read: an accepted report of intentional feeding), you should not be getting much benefit out of that, similarly, this prevents intentional feeding from a team as a way to mitigate losses. Standard intentional feeding penalties apply.

  • No more 4 man premades, at least in ranked. You and your friends might have fun, but that odd summoner out is getting screwed. Better yet, bring back solo queue already!

  • Alternative: Voice chat (with identical mute controls) ingame to cut down on the need for external chat tools.

Behavior

  • Intentional feeding is, as Joe Biden would say, a real big fucking deal. The banhammer on these should be absolutely merciless because unlike chat, which you can at least mute, feeding completely ruins games and the days of 9 other summoners. First offense warning, second offense item 3133 item 3634 summoner 11!

  • Better chat management tools for summoners. If someone starts out in pregame being a jerk, there should be a mute option right then and there, which carries over into game and postgame.

  • Would love to see a "one account per person, per lifetime" rule. Smurfing sucks, boosting sucks, people evading bans sucks. Behave yourself or go play another game.

I'm totally not expecting/demanding a red response here, but I would like to hear a Rioter's thoughts if one happens along this.

Funny thing is, banning smurfs would be one of the easiest and fastest solutions to a LOT of problems, but it'll never be implemented.

Already made a post about the solution to this problem. The champion grading system.

+1 i don't even feel like playing this game right now because people just feed super hard and there is nothing i can do about it.

This sounds good but there is a pretty big problem with it. It promotes a more selfish playstyle rather than a team focused playstyle. For example, let's say my team just lost a team fight and me and a teammate are being chased by the enemy team and they are about to catch my teammate. I can either engage on to the enemy team so that my teammate who has a champ much better for protecting our base can runaway and live and so that the enemy can't end the game or I can just ignore them and keep a nice score so that I won't lose as much lp of we lose. That's my thought at least
