I'm confused.. Does Ping affect grade? Why did i get an S- for this game??

I just got an S- for this game.. http://matchhistory.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/#match-details/NA1/2523466327/207008136?tab=overview there was absolutely nothing special about this game...

EXCEPT that i manage it while having between 150-450 ping all game ( most of the game was at 390-410) and considering im playing Nidalee its PRETTY hard to land spears like that.

but even then they had a WW who i never once met all game... and who ending up being afk when they surrendered

so.. WHY exactly did i get an S-?

i won a 5v4.. with a normal score.. with normal CS, with normal ward converge so WHY exactly did i get an S-? no where does that score looking at the stats alone deserve an S-. there was nothing special about that game except my stupidly high ping.

the ONLY reason i can think of that would give me a score as high as an S- for that bland game would be an S- games is if they took into account my ping...

  • Less than 50% kill participation (and 2/3rds of those takedowns were simply assists)

No I'm wondering why i deserve a grade in the S range at all for that game...

"Normal" is not good enough for S or S+. It has to be great and exceptionally good. There should be something "special about the game" to get S or higher.

And no it's not about your ping.

Also, cs is probably too low.

It's worth noting Nidalee isn't played super often. She's also fairly difficult. So you're not being scored against many other players, and a number of those are likely not very skilled on her.

It's much harder to get a good grading on champs that are highly picked, since there's more people playing them and more people performing well and exceptional on them.

ok people... i think your missing my point... I'm asking why i got a score as HIGH an an S-...

that game was pretty damn bland.. and was not REMOTELY S- worthy..

Ok im going to break it down Comments help me if i get something wrong, while they never say what brings up your grade there are some things it does take into account

  1. Kills
  2. Deaths ( the later the game goes the less this gets factored in)
  3. Assists
  4. Farm
  5. Wards
  6. Total Damage Dealt to Champs
  7. Objectives It takes all these factors and compare it to all the other people's games who have played the champion AND the around the same Length the game was, from there you get the grade. I doubt that it will take ping into account because how would they incorporate it? would it be the lowest spike in ping taken into account or would it be the average ping. this is just me thinking

It's a 21-minute game. The grades are taken relative to game time. 2/0/4 at 21 minutes with 117 cs would be pretty solid for that short of a game.

The thing that stands out to me, though, is that you got to do a LOT of counter-jungling for that early in the game, especially. Even if that's courtesy of an AFK enemy jungler, the game doesn't really know that. I haven't directly heard from them that they look at jungle minions from own jungle separately from the enemy jungle, but it wouldn't surprise me if they do since we have that stat available.
