Why can every other ADC kill Jinx with just a Doran's Blade

But she needs either a gank, some long lasting form of hard cc, and/or 2 items to even have a chance of killing someone? She has the worst kit for early game dominance compared to any other ADC champion besides maybe Corki. Being slow with no escapes and some semi-hard to land traps/slows makes her a fairly easy target and a good champion to look for trades on since she cant match the damage by herself with just her Q (either form). Her Q (rockets) is good poke sometimes, but it costs mana and has slow af ATK SPEED before she has ATK SPEED items. The AOE helps but 20 or so damage is nothing really to worry about. Don't get me wrong, once she gets going she really comes online, but she is so item dependent that achieving that same starting level of dominance most other ADC's have by default is difficult to achieve.

Maybe if her W was more useful than just for the occasional last hit on a minion or attempted slow on an escaping target she would have a better early game. Being limited to 1 maybe 2 spells during fights is pretty hard to work with. Especially since her E has a long delay and her W is "first enemy hit", team fights usually don't see to many of them used successfully. Maybe add some form of execute damage on it for a lower AD scaling or lower its cost and CD so it can be used more often.

Because she's a hypercarry. That's pretty much the definition of being a hypercarry right there.

She is the only one then. Every other typical ADC champion does not have this struggle AND do not fall off, or only fall off slightly if they do (like with Caitlyn).

The nature of most ADC's, as the glass cannon (note that not all marksman have to be played ADC, but I'm talking specifically AD carry as in the role) is to scale into the late-game. How well they do, as well as their early game, varies from ADC to ADC.

An early-game Graves is king, but a late-game Graves is still going to tickle. A lot.

An early game Jinx is tissue paper, but a late-game Jinx eats your towers for breakfast and shits on your front-line.

The two most iconic hypercarries in my opinion are Jinx and Vayne, but comparing the two might aid you since your OP seems to be about "kills." Jinx is a hypercarry, but she's a bit more objective focused. Her ult is good for securing kills and the like, but her Q is really great for taking down towers. Vayne, on the other hand, is more of a duelist. She's the one you'd want to play if you're looking for kills in the late-game.

Anyway, to get down to the nitty gritty, every ADC plays a tad differently and has different strengths/weaknesses otherwise the role would be pretty damn boring when they play all the same.

Because after the 30 minutes mark you need a 6th team member to kill her?

JavelinJoe1 votes

You wont make it to 30 minutes ahead without being camped or donated kills usually.

thats the point.

She doesn't really need to get kills to snowball. Just stand back, farm, and use your traps/zap to keep yourself safe. With her rocket range and high free attack speed, it's fairly easy for her to outfarm her opponent safely. It's true, she's not made to dominate early game. If every adc did that, it would just be a "whichever one's better this patch." Which is still frequently the case, unfortunately.

If every adc did that

Every other standard ADC does that which is why I made the post

wait what? O.o she's the only ADC with an AS steroid at level 1 that lasts forever, of course at lvl 1 it isn't that big of a deal but in comparison, her attack speed from the get go would make her catch up to any other lvl 1 adc.

of course, AS at lvl one is a measly stat but saying that she looses EVERY duel before having 2 items is a stretch

Do you live in some fantasy world where Jinx isn't really strong right now?

I don't think you understand what everybody else who comments on the post is saying so i'll try to explain it in a different way.

Maybe if her W was more useful than just for the occasional last hit on a minion or attempted slow on an escaping target she would have a better early game.

I just took a piece of your post to compare to a few other adc's with similar abilities...

I copied and pasted some stats from the lol wiki website for said champions and I'll comment below each one and compare it to jinx...

Jinx W:

RANGE: 1500 SPEED: 3200 COST: 50 / 60 / 70 / 80 / 90 MANA COOLDOWN: 10 / 9 / 8 / 7 / 6

PHYSICAL DAMAGE: 10 / 60 / 110 / 160 / 210 (+ 140% AD)

SLOW: 30 / 40 / 50 / 60 / 70%

DAYUMMM look at that AD scaling. pretty sick, low base damage. so looks like what you say above is true, her W sucks early game :( 10 base damage at level 1 is pretty low, not to mention casting time when compared to the slow which lasts 2 seconds. but wow 140% AD and 70% slow at max rank, rito nerf (or tweak) please.

Jhin W:

RANGE: 2500 COST: 50 / 60 / 70 / 80 / 90 MANA COOLDOWN: 14

PHYSICAL DAMAGE: 50 / 85 / 120 / 155 / 190 (+ 50% AD)

(snare) DURATION: 0.75 / 1 / 1.25 / 1.5 / 1.75

This guy is played a lot atm so he is perfect for this sort of thing, But I'll stick to your comment for simplicity's sake... his W's base damage is higher, casting time is generally the same, but it has a snare which is admit-ably better than a 2 second slow (IMO). the major difference is the scalind AD that's 90% LESS than jinx. what I'm saying is you think Jinx is supposed to be a literal "Attack Damage Carry" from the beginning to the end of the game (or at least that's what I understand from your post) and she is supposed to scale into the late game. if her base damage was as high as Jhin's at level 1 she'd be ridiculously strong in the laning phase. Mana cost is literally the same, but I looked at their mana and mana regen... Jhin has more base mana Jinx has more regen I'd say its fair since Jhin can get 1 more full W out of his base mana and Jinx can get more in the long term. Not to mention the range difference (again IMO you are free to respond and tell me how dumb I am but please read my last addition to this response)

Ezreal Q and W:

Q: RANGE: 1150 SPEED: 2000 COST: 28 / 31 / 34 / 37 / 40 MANA COOLDOWN: 6.5 / 6 / 5.5 / 5 / 4.5

ACTIVE: Ezreal fires a bolt of energy in a line, dealing physical damage to the first enemy hit, and applying on-hit effects. If Mystic Shot successfully hits an enemy, all of Ezreal's ability cooldowns are refreshed by 1.5 seconds.

PHYSICAL DAMAGE: 35 / 55 / 75 / 95 / 115 (+ 110% AD) (+ 40% AP)

W: RANGE: 1000 SPEED: 1550 COST: 50 / 60 / 70 / 80 / 90 MANA COOLDOWN: 9

ACTIVE: Ezreal fires a wave of energy in a line, dealing magic damage to enemy champions struck, and granting all allied champions struck bonus attack speed for 5 seconds.

MAGIC DAMAGE: 70 / 115 / 160 / 205 / 250 (+ 80% AP) ATTACK SPEED: 20 / 25 / 30 / 35 / 40%

Alright I know I said I would stick to the W, but I figured that since Ezreal's Q and W feel so similar I might as well mention both at the same time. Not to mention that he is not in the meta atm. Ezreal is pretty well known for his mid-game carry potential and that he falls off late-game. I never thought about looking into why myself so I decided to check out his wiki page and see what's up. Ezreal Q: range is lower than the other two champions (thank god) but no casting time. and his cool-down is significantly shorter. The base damage is lowered to make up for that short cool-down (consider the Q's passive that reduces cool-down ontop of the short cool-down). 110% scaling AD is fair considering that (most) ezreal's that I see don't ever auto attack to take advantage of his passive and w's increase in attack speed - I am gold I am in noob tier -.

Let's move on to his W: range is short, cool-down is OK, not too long, not too short, mana cost is terrible, OH MY GOSH THAT PASSIVE. Yeah his W's horrible stats is made up for in his passive ^^ I hardly ever see an Ezreal actually use his E to jump into his own W to give himself that attack speed on-top of his passive. and finally the W damage is awful but, that's OK.

there. You got the response you deserved ;) please give me your feedback and your opinion since things like this generally aren't very clear and its my first time posting something like this.

sincerely, a Trundle main [slayer-pantheon-thumbs]

I get what you are saying, and I agree, there are many champions with similar designs, and that Jinx is meant for late game scaling. However I don't think her W is quite as strong as you may seem to think. Sure it has nearly 200% AD ratio, but you use it every 6 seconds or so and only if you have a clear path to the enemy target since it is not penetrating. It also does not proc on-hits like Ezreal's Q.

When you compare it to Jhin's AD ratio, you need to remember that standard Jhin builds give him around 600-700 AD (before crit) so 50% of that is still a lot. It also can be used to proc hard CC on the target if they have meet the conditions. While not as reliable as Jinx's E per-say, the range it has make up for that. Jinx on the other hand will also have some non-ad items in her build which will more contribute to her crit chance and ATK SPEED and not her AD so they wont effect the W's ratio at all.

While Ezreal's Q has decent AD and procs on-hits (which is huge since things like Iceborn Gauntlets add their passive damage to it), it also has a CD refresh to 1.5 seconds. And costs 40 mana to use it, not 90 like the other two. Not to mention that his W can be applied to allies too.

Shove them in and poke with Q... The champion is not for 1v1 even if your AS is quite high with stacked Q, you are for long range poke and cleanup, including global snipe. Jinx that gets an assist or kill will probably wipe the whole enemy team, this is one of the strongest passives in the game (but it can be often win more). Also you bring 2 CC. Some ADCs have 0 CC.
