What to do when your MMR drops too low

For various reasons that I can't be asked to explain for the millionth time, my MMR has dropped low enough that it is incredibly discouraging to play ranked. The lp gain/loss differential is too huge to overcome without dropping seemingly several divisions or quite possibly tiers.

After much research into the topic, I have finally discovered the solution for what to do when your account ends up in one of these insurmountable "MMR Ravines": Start a smurf.

At a certain point, dropping low enough to equalize your MMR becomes a task that will take so many games and will completely decimate any work that you have put in to climb that the best option is to begin the climb anew on a different account. It is not an option that many people would want to do, but unless you want to drop from plat1 to silver1 before your MMR matches what the system thinks you should be at, its the best option.
