How to beat Fizz?

So, yes, I know you have to abuse his CDs, but nearly any time I try to go in after his E and Q are down, he still wins the trade. He has such low cooldowns that they're basically irrelevant, and by the time you get one attack off, his whole kit is back up, and he proceeds to one shot you. And his W basically means he wins any melee trade.

But, outside of laning, I just don't even know. You can catch him out, but he still wins. He can be 10% health, but thanks to his at-will invincibility, he still wins. I can be a full build ADC, but he literally one shots me while I just tickle him. I can build a Hexdrinker early game (like, in laning), and he just nukes through it with no effort at all. He can even miss his ult, yet still instantly kill me.

How do I kill someone who quadruples my damage (even if I play someone bursty), can't really be outplayed, and can go invincible at will every 3 seconds?

I don't main any particular role (fill main). I was playing Teemo against Fizz one time, and I had built a Hexdrinker so he wouldn't be able to just kill me outright (or so I thought) -- but, he just burst straight through the shield before I even saw it turn on.

To be completely honest, teemo is certainly weak against burst champions. It also doesn't help that he only really counters aa application based champions. While fizz excels in burst on squishy champions.

Yeah, Teemo isn't a good pick into Fizz, but I was first pick top, and Teemo is usually pretty hard to counter. I could poke him pretty well and keep him below 40% health, but he could just kill me whenever he felt like it -- didn't even really need his ult.

Though, my usual Teemo build has >3600 HP, so I'm not super squishy, and my Q does block the on-hit effects of Fizz's Q. I just thought it was absurd that I could have 1600 health AND a Hexdrinker, and he just instantly kills me (I literally didn't see the shield turn on it was so fast) even without his ult.

My thoughts exactly, nor does it help when assassins are able to build dual purpose items. For ex item 3155 item 3001 . Normally i main mages, due to riot forcing us to buy mana for sustain as our first items, we are being mechanically set back in terms of gold. As we can't have even trade offs. Last i checked assassins were supposed to be able to outclass me when in terms of mobility. Not itemization = /

Get a peeling tank that can build MR items. Have mobile carries.

Use champions that can survive his burst in some way. Kayle, Aatrox, Wukong, Morgana, Tryndamere.

Ban. Akali is worse. gotta love how you can flash away from them both under your tower later and less than a second they are both on top of you 1 hitting you leaving the tower with full health and getting 1 tower hit...

So many champions can tower dive and get away....... Not just those. Any tanks can do it too without the escape skills.

True, but at least there is counter play to tanks. Akali can literally 1v5 a team and come out with full health, tanks usually cant aside from mundo.

any tanky bruiser. jax xin or ww can beat him once they get a one mr tank item. spirit visage or banshees. the thing is usually its still hard to kill him because of his E. so he usually just runs away and waits until he sees a squishy to one shot

all assassins are weak to tanks and bruisers. I mean there was like a 12/1 fizz and I was a 2/0 nautlius. I had 2 MR items. I shat on him. for obvious reason. any tank that does a decent amount of damage and has some cc does shit on fizz. or bruisers. fizz however out of all assassins have sustained damage. because of his W. funny thing since hes AP. but low cooldowns and W means he will do a lot of overtime damage. so if your a tank that cant do damage he will still kill you.

Ok, so he is melee. And his cooldowns are actually quite long in laning phase 10/10/16 on Q W E respectively. U can shove him under tower. He cannot farm under tower unless he expends mana, in which case he cant trade with you, and you are free to do what u want to him. If he turns around to trade with you, he misses cs. Remember to respect his space if you don't have mobility and if you are low because he can close a suprising amount of distance with flash E Q and kill u cause of the %missing hp damage.

If you are a mage good items to counter him are zhonya/abyssal. when he lands in ult on you, and tries to WQ you or E you, if you press zhonya, u can negate the damage from his spells. thats a good chunk of damage lost and it will give you an opportunity to either turn on him( or your team) or walk away. Abuse his weak laning phase if you are ranged.

As an AD build maw to negate his burst. unless U fed fizz a lot he should not be able to one shot you through a basic rotation of his abilities when you have maw up. Also, QSS removes his ult (rip next patch tho.)

Also fizz can go untargetable not invincible they are 2 very diffrent things. ALSO it has a cooldown of slightly about 4 seconds not 3 ASSUMING he has 45% cdr.

Although winning lane against a fizz with a champ like TF can be extremely hard, but u just have to play safe in those matchups.
