And it just goes back to how the first 10 placement game system is probably the must retarded system in any competitive game I've ever seen. People get placed high gold and get carried and claw their way to plat while barely winning anything. Then sit at the top with the upper 10% of player while winning less than half of their games. Literally trash standing near the top of our leader boards lol. It doesn't even make sense. Some people play the first 10 games, get lucky and place into gold, then just run and play normals, yet strut around like they're really a gold player, when they'd struggle to carry a smurf out of bronze. Why the hell does this shit even exist?

Edit: A lot of you guys are talking about players that were diamond last season and just haven't gotten their act together this season yet. I'm not talking about that, I am talking about people that are no better than silver, but got placed in gold this or last season and as a result are plat when they honestly don't deserve it. Let me tell you how annoying it is when your jungler is plat and gets destroyed because he doesn't know what he's doing, since he was nearly placed in plat and didn't work for it.

Because the reset is soft, your MMR is still around from last season, so if you are 50-50 in win rate, you will be around where you were last season (which in turn was the carry over from the previous season and so forth). So if you did the climb in the past, unless you actually climb back down the ladder, you basically stay where you were. For negative win rate plats, that usually means they were diamond or higher plats previously and this season climbed down the ladder a bit.

You can still get placed in gold with a 100% new account. Phylol just proved that on his smurf a few days ago.

I went from S1 playing against golds last season to B4 this season. "Soft reset" seems to mean we nuke you more than a full league down. Meanwhile people playing their first season of ranked can go 3-7 4-6 in placements and get S3.

People who are low win rate in plat are those that were diamond last season, or stuck in plat 5 and losing a lot of games. High win rate silvers are those that were bronze - low gold last season, and have been climbing. Having a high win rate means nothing, it's all about what division you are at. Win rate just shows where you've been, not where you are going per se.

No, I've seen several of them, and after them feeding in my games and being nowhere near plat level I looked them up and the majority of them were gold last season, a few of them were plat last season. And you can bet they were gold because they were probably placed there. It's a joke man.

This is why when I recruit I look at past seasons, consistency is key. Anyone can peak at a level way above their ability out of luck, not many can do it 2or 3 years straight with just luck.

Side note though, win rates don't mean much. If someone was p1 last season and is plat 3 this season with a 48% win rate that just means they haven't finished climbing to where they were previously. Last season some challengers had 46% win rates because they were struggling a hit in d1 or d2. They were still obviously good, they were just lower than the previous season.

Ikr like wtf. I met a gold 3 with a 28% winrate over 60 games once in my ranked game
