Honestly, screw Kalista and whoever created her(mainly her passive)

Trash MammaI··97 votes·4,277 views

I hate you so much whoever created her. I hate you even more to whoever thought of her passive. It's like a big "FUCK YOU" to whoever plays against her.

I thought kiting was created to be a "skill" mechanic that only experienced players who tend to play adc were able to do perfectly. Her passive just throws all that out of the window.

If you're going to give her such a BS passive why does she also get an infinite stacking damage skill on her AA's that outdamages smite as well as slows.

If you're going to make a champ who's core strength is kiting then they need to be squishier than heimer/sona/vayne etc. meaning retardedly low hp armor/mr srsly.

Yes, I just played against a kalista I was singed and it was annoying as shit to have her in my flip range for .1 second but I could never get it off because of that gay passive. Slow didn't do squat because of her stupid hopping.

She's more infuriating to play against than teemo/vlad/heimer/ziggs/zed etc.

Not necessarily. His delusional fanboys worship him. For everyone else, yeah - we're not impressed that he's still allowed to touch champions.

its a great, unique design, and that type of creativity should be recognized. But in this game, its just not a good fit.

TheRakkun3 votes

Exactly what I said.

TheRakkun12 votes

He'd be a good designer for another game, his champions have flow and interesting game mechanics, but in league they're horribly overpowered and broken.

doublelift fg1 votes

i respected him until he designed kalista...

TheRakkun3 votes

What about when he designed Yasuo Zyra Thresh Zed Darius

Hex the FenFen2 votes

What about it? Lol Zyra is the only one of those who actually got nerfed out of her intended role (technically). The others are still pretty strong champions who can still dominate in their designed role. I still play Zyra mid, cause it is awesome and really fun, but it definitely is not as easy as it was on release. Yeah she makes for a strong support but def not worthy of being labeled as OP.

TheRakkun3 votes

Because their kits are all overloaded as fuck?

Hex the FenFen1 votes

Zyra's kit isn't really overloaded. She has decent CC and a situational ultimate. She is in a good spot right now considering she has clear counterplay and clear strengths. I agree on the others being overloaded, but Zyra? Hardly.

To be 100% honest, I'm a fan of certainlyT. I think some of his champs are super fun to play, they're really unique compared to a lot of the other champs and have a lot of fun mechanics. I DO agree that a lot of them are overtuned and just super strong in general, but I still think his champs are well designed in terms of unique-ness and have a good overall "fun factor". (To play as, that is.)

That's the issue. I could create a champion whose core theme is earth manipulation. Their iconic ability is an earthquake that slows all enemy champions to a crawl and eventually stuns and roots them. Then it gives me the ability to forcefully send all of my allies through tunnels from across the map to a targeted location on top of one of the rooted champions.

Does that make it okay? It's a unique ability that matches the theme, but it's toxic as shit for all parties involved, and I would never want to see this make it into the game. That's where his kits are bad for game health. They are unique yeah, but uniqueness doesn't excuse how awful they feel to play with and against.

Did you forget to take Ghost as Singed? A Singed can easily catch up to Kalista with Ghost, Insanity Potion, or both.

He is actually one of the few melees that can fare okay against Kalista due to his passive move speed. As Singed, you need to apply your AOE in front of you, run in front of Kalista, then flip her. If you keep trying to spam flip at max range, you will just waste time with the animation. Bruisers who are slow by nature with only 1 gap closers are the most powerless against Kalista, since she can hop away after they used their gap closers.

Orb walking is actually not that difficult on most ADCs. Kalista's jumps are only slightly better in comparison. In exchange, she gives up a lot of damage and utility for the jumps.

As Singed, you could have been easily kited by a Ezreal, Vayne, or even Corki.

Trash MammaI5 votes

Vs ezreal/vayne/corki they get 1 form of an escape away. Which is easy to close the distance with them and flip them. With Kalista you're always RIGHT there in her face but there's just a tiny gap her passive keeps you at that you can't do anything (esp as singed since his flip range) Then you have to account for her slow + other cc people are throwing on you.

DeynaTaggerung4 votes

No really, he's right. Kalista's passive is only marginally better than regular attack moving on adcs. Since she has a hang moment when she lands. Aside from that she has no actual dodges. She also gives up any sort of damaging ult (the cc can be good but it's not reliable) like most adcs get. Only two of her abilities are actually damage based hence kiting/utility makes sense.

Not to mention have you played kalista? It's frustratingly hard(although exciting) to constantly be jumping around. Attacking and jumping backwards (which they got rid of the extra distance on btw) is harder than regular adc kiting(maybe just cuz I'm used to it the other way)

Theres a difference between OP, and bad design.

Kalista is fairly balanced, just annoying as hell.

Sammystorm3 votes

Bad design is completely opinion based. She might be "annoying as hell" to you. However to alot of other people she is fun and or not a problem. So if she is balance what is the point of complaining?

Zenthon Prime6 votes

Who is she "not a problem" for? Supports hate the loss of control from her ult. Mages hate her because she's in permanent EZmode for skillshot dodging. Tanks and bruisers hate her because her kiting power is BS, and a skilled Kalista also has a permaslow if minions are around.

Let's face it, the only people who don't have an issue with Kalista are those with primarily targeted ranged damage (which Riot already dislikes) or those who can blow her up instantly. Usually both. If that's not a sign of bad design to someone, I am legitimately not sure what would be.

Great argument. Kalista has a cancerous design, and anyone who mains or defends her disgusts me.

I kill her a lot as Trynd and Nasus too.

TomA3X2 votes

An I'm real proud of you guys. But some of us just aren't on your level, so we have trouble dealing with her.

MadDoughnutz6 votes

Here's a tip that'll piss off a lot of people: Don't focus her. Don't chase her. Don't even go for her other then zoning. Why? Because she wants you to. That's her strength. You don't chase a Singed and then cry when he kills you because of it, right? Same concept. Kill her teammates instead of her, and suddenly you'll see her flaws. Kalista is nothing more then a massive trap for your team to chase after and try to catch, due to the whole 'Kill the ADC, win the fight' mentality. Against Kalista, you need a different mindset: Kill everybody but the ADC, and see how far she manages to get by herself. You could argue it's the same for any ADC, but for Kalista, who has the lowest damage output of any ADC, ever, it's downright stupid how useless she becomes. Hell, half of her abilties rely on somebody else to be there for her. The moment you start peeling for your ADC that isn't Kalista and letting him do damage instead of diving head first to try and kill their Kalista, you'll notice the fight turning in your favor simply because of the fact that every other ADC in the game out damages Kalista in a fight as long as they are at equal gold levels.

But nope, everybody still plays with the same 'Kill the ADC Over Everything' mentality against Kalista and then rages when that doesn't work out rather then learn how to play against her and adopt different strategies.

Go ahead, downvote me for defending Kalista. It's a rage and complaint thread after all, isn't it? Logic isn't used here. :D

Retillin12 votes

So, I'm just trying to understand here, your idea of dealing with Kalista is to kill the tank line then the support then the AP/mid carry THEN Kalista? That wouldn't be so bad if she wasn't a sustain damage carry. Ie the longer she is the on the field the more damage she does. Unlike say Vlad/Syndra who have down times and cool down windows. (As short as they may be)

Ignoring abilities for a moment (we'll come back to them) Kalista has 53 AD at first level and 109 at 18. Corki has 51-102. Quinn 51-102. Miss Fortune 50-101. Jinx 53-104. Graves 54-107. So just going off the base numbers she is average or slightly better than most ADCs.

Attack Speed. Ignoring abilities/passives again, she has the fastest attack speed of any of them at level 18. (unless I did my math wrong, and that is VERY possible)

So off her AD and her Speed we see she is average to high on base attack damage late game.

Now where it gets tricky is abilities. It's really hard to judge who does more damage once you look at Corki Ult, Miss Fortune W (passive dmg/attack speed buff), Graves burst, ect...

So saying "she has the lowest damage output of any ADC, ever" doesn't hold much water. She is right there in damage. If she were as weak as you say, she would not be picked as much as she is, in pro play. So let's get off the idea that Kalista is "weak" for an adc and lives off her bounce.

As for the mentality of "kill the adc over everything" I can kind of agree. However if your characters job IS to kill the adc and you can't get to him/her, then one champion pick just countered you to such a degree that you have no shot without massively outplaying your opponent.

LICENSED HOOKER7 votes

damn you, you got to him first. As a leona and thresh sup i absolutely hate kalista, her kits bs and u cannot hit her, ohh yeah leme run away *gets hit with bs stacks as i run away and then gets slowed only to die with her q..

lxlLilybellelxl2 votes

Kalista will absolutely shred any tank in the bot lane at level 2, her damage output is higher than any possible defense you can muster up. There is litterally no point in even trying to engage on her the second she's can move she will and she will shred you down. :/ She is literally the anti-fun.... only thing i ever do against her anymore is play lux.. force zone her with E then snare = profit.

Ëpic2 votes

I gotta say. Ignore the ADC is terrible advice and you are either joking or a main ADC that wants to trick idiots into letting you roam the whole team fight.

I agree with this post whole heartedly. I hate all of her. It's not even a matter of her being crazy OP (cause she does have her weaknesses) But god damn her kit. That jump needs to have some sort of a CD. like she can use it after so many auto's or some crap. I hate her ult.
just her whole kit makes me a bit ragey. she's probably the only champ I just really fuckin hate

Togekiss246 votes

Kalista's core mechanics pretty much renders any bruiser with no auto-targeting gap-closer irrelevant, so you shouldn't be so surprised you lost to one as a Singed.

Trash MammaI3 votes

We won the game, it was just really irritating being just out of arms reach of her because of that passive. It's like playing against a teemo who has the hitbox of yorick's ghouls. (they're hard as fuck to click on)

A good singed would have flipped her into his sticky goo (which roots her) while his team kill her in less than a second.

Some champions have a mechanical skill cap, deal with it.

AMYS GRAVE2 votes

His goo doesn't root her it only slows her, which doesn't affect her hopping distance at all, which means she can still kite away no problem. Slowing kalista does nothing.

They added a feature with Singed model update that if you flip a champ into the goo, they will get rooted.Though,I never seen anyone actually do.

does if you flip the enemy into the goo

Equally if you buy thornmail and have your q up as singed her kiting you should do more damage to her

It's 254 for damage output calculations, been tested and any spears beyond 254 simply can't get calculated for higher damage. But Rend at that point does 2550 / 3572 / 4847 / 6375 / 8156 (+ 5120 / 5752.5 / 6385 / 7017.5 / 7650% AD). This is according to the LoL Wiki page.

Rend's stacks only drop off if you stop autoing someone, so as long as you keep the autos coming it can stack until the target dies.
