Ability descriptions are too long and confusing! @Meddler
Hey there,
Problem: Abilty descriptions are often way too long and confusing. Often times it doesnt even tell you how much total dmg the ability does, you have to do arithmetic to figure it out.
Solution: In other games, holding ALT while hovering the ability shows the full info. This will make it easy for new players to understand the ability as it will be worded simply, and experienced players can hold ALT to view all the details (like scaling, etc).
Example:
**Current Talia Q: **
ACTIVE: Taliyah unleashes 5 Stone Shards in quick succession in the target direction over 1.5 seconds, dealing magic damage in a small area X units radius wide around the first target hit. Targets hit by a Stone Shard take 50% damage from subsequent shards. Minions receive 50% bonus damage. Casting Threaded Volley creates an area of Worked Ground X units radius wide around Taliyah that lasts 140 - 77 (based on cooldown reduction) seconds. While on Worked Ground, Taliyah gains 10 - 20 (based on level)% bonus movement speed, and only hurls one Stone Shard upon casting Threaded Volley, refunding half its mana cost.
**Proposed new Talia q (condensed): **
Taliyah unleashes 5 Stone Shards in quick succession and creates an area of Worked Ground. Damage: 68.
Holding ALT while hovering over q will show the original ability text.
Thats so much simpler than the stuff above. A new player to the champion will easily understand the ability, instead of reading a paragraph. and doing maths to figure out damage. Especially nowdays where every skill has 3 parts, an active, a passive, and some interaction with other skills, skill descriptions can get hella long.
Do you guys think that ability texts are too bloated? Or are they fine the way the are.
