Sylas is boring
I didn't think a 2019 champion would end up with such a generic base kit. Just because he has a finnicky ultimate doesn't mean you had to do him like this Riot
The only thing he's missing is a 3 hit passive

He's refreshingly simple. I like that.
It absolutely does mean they have to do him like this. The power to pick literally any ultimate you're up against could lead him to be oppressively broken against certain champions if his kit had a lot of tools or even hard CC in it, because that would open up a lot more interactions with ultimates that are balanced based on the limitations of the kit. Plus, his play style appears to be on the lines of an assassin or diver, so he doesn't an insane amount of complexity for that reason as well.
I think it's refreshing that we have a champion with a fairly straightforward, simple kit with not that many bells and whistles.
I think for the champ designer that this is a nice release. The champ didn’t wow me but it looks like a solid design

I don't think so, but I respect your opinion.
I don't mind his kit being simple (pull in, dmg+slow and heal yourself).
I just don't like the passive. There's too many sheen passives in the game already. He could have had something cooler or more unique than x bonus dmg after each spell.
Edit: It's probably just to help him jungle (like nocturne), as he's prob not the best laner.
Sylas needs to be reverted!!! He is weak and his king slayer (w) Feels like crap compared to the old one!!! i think riot screwed the pooch on this one!
