I didn't think a 2019 champion would end up with such a generic base kit. Just because he has a finnicky ultimate doesn't mean you had to do him like this Riot

The only thing he's missing is a 3 hit passive

It absolutely does mean they have to do him like this. The power to pick literally any ultimate you're up against could lead him to be oppressively broken against certain champions if his kit had a lot of tools or even hard CC in it, because that would open up a lot more interactions with ultimates that are balanced based on the limitations of the kit. Plus, his play style appears to be on the lines of an assassin or diver, so he doesn't an insane amount of complexity for that reason as well.

I think it's refreshing that we have a champion with a fairly straightforward, simple kit with not that many bells and whistles.

He will be a bad pick at times because he's obviously not going to have all the tools your team will always need. Much in the way that he walks the middle road in terms of complexity of design, he also walks the middle road in his usefulness to the team.

Durability, utility, CC and healing that doesn't actively shove him into the thick of combat? He's got those things, but they're conditional, and he's got to take a lot of risks to make them work. He's not Lux who can root from miles away and run, nor is he Vlad who can heal himself from afar. He's got to throw himself into the thick of things, and risk death.

What's going to make him broken is the braindead 0 skill chase kit riot gave him. He has 3 dashes plus a ranged slow. Just his 1st e and q are enough to chase someone down. But at that point when he is already in your face, he still has 2 dashes. And to top it all off he might use a zed or Camille ult and now even a r%%%%%ed monkey can chase you down with him. And ofc he is useful in tf because he simply takes a tf ult from your team. So he is an unstoppable assasin who has sustain poke and is useful in tf. Also except his q everything he has is either boring or taken from other champs.

I think for the champ designer that this is a nice release. The champ didn’t wow me but it looks like a solid design

anyone without completely new mechanics can be called generic by that logic, his q is a unique skill shot in how it works, his e is a 2 part gap closer and his w is a sustain spell for duels that has a lot of dmg potential, his kit is plenty unique without being overloaded as hell

I don't mind his kit being simple (pull in, dmg+slow and heal yourself).

I just don't like the passive. There's too many sheen passives in the game already. He could have had something cooler or more unique than x bonus dmg after each spell.

Edit: It's probably just to help him jungle (like nocturne), as he's prob not the best laner.

Sylas needs to be reverted!!! He is weak and his king slayer (w) Feels like crap compared to the old one!!! i think riot screwed the pooch on this one! Sylas They say he is more of an assassin now than before but its definitely not true!
