I don't understand the matchmaking...

I'm d5 and I'm playing vs. d1,d2,d3 players all the time and at the same time I'm playing with or vs. plats. I don't get this shit. To get out of fucking d5 shithole I have to win vs. d1's ? This doesn't make sense at fucking all.

The higher your mmr, the lower the pool of players to play against. Which means to get a game, you're more than likely going to have the overall pool of players spreading out over a larger range of MMRs than say plat 5 or gold would.
