It just feels so AIDS to play anything other than FotM champions

Because of how extremely stat stick everything feels. I cant play a lot of champions I ENJOY with the expectation to win. Why pick eve when I can do the same thing with warwick and stay alive long enough to rinse repeat. Why pick leblanc.. like ever when I can play an ad assassin. Why play ANY mage when I can pick malzahar and p much autowin. Top lane.. I don't even play top lane but I know well enough if you aren't ornn or maokai you pretty much don't matter. Like everything just sucks when your champion isn't as good as everyone elses.

I just want to input that I just got to d5, from p5, by only playing maokai/poppy. Yes I know maokai is op, but most of the games I actually played was with poppy. I actually just did my series, with the only loss being the game that I played maokai in. In the rest of the games, I played poppy and won them all. Maybe this is a bit biased since I am almost a poppy 1 trick right now, but maokai/orn aren't the only champions you can play top and do well. Also, please disregard my name, I used to be a tristana 1 trick but I changed to top as I did well with poppy and I haven't been doing well on adc. Also, this is my alt acc (main = kaironen) as I felt it was more appropriate to post here since I have a ton of poppy games played at top lane on this account.

What do you do to have an impact top lane right now? If my adcs aren't doing well, the game is pretty much over at that point.

From my experience of playing top lane as poppy/maokai, you generally just play top lane like usual, try to get a lead or go at least even. Then, you try to play around your strongest lane as a tank to be able to cc them and kill them before they are able to react. When I play poppy top, I always get a titanic hydra at some point in the game and I usually get a lead. Then, after I get titanic hydra and tabi (or merc, depending on match up), I just e stun som1 to the wall and almost 3 shot. I am usually able to about 3/4 hp someone with the combo of e, q, aa, titanic aa. However, to sum up how to carry as a tank, the best way to do it is to make someone completely useless in a fight. So, if there is a vi trying to dive your adc, just cc her so she just gets popped. It depends a lot on the game as this doesn't apply to every situation.

I feel that way, but I change the FotM part to Lux.

Why play literally anything else when I can play Lux? I only support, so I always get my role, and she's super versatile, so I can build according to what we need as a team, etc. Man...Lux is awesome.

You are only gold 2 and I don't mean that in a bad way; you can still get away with playing whichever champ you like as long as you are good at it. I'm pretty sure that once you get to high diamond, you are almost forced to play meta.

You dont have to be playing 3 color ranks above where you currently are to win games in ranked. Sure that should always be the goal but if that is the reality then the mmr lp system isnt doing its job.

Until you reach Diamond 1+, all picks are essentially fair game.

Btw don't play Jungle Yorick, it took me awhile to master it and it's pretty bad if your opponents know how it works. I just got by by cheesing people who didn't know what I could do (which was nearly 100% of the time, thus the winrate lol).

Nah even smurfing. With how broken and low skillcap te meta is atm you can easily end up losing out. At least talking about something like smurfing in Plat. below that people cant even function.

I have over 800k on 2 different champions but i just pick Ezreal and games are suddenly much easier i really am not lying i've won way more games by playing Ezreal so far and i have like 10k on him.
