What happened to the support item??

I hadn't played normals in awhile, since ARAM tends to be more rewarding. But, I jumped in this morning in the mood to play Thresh. It took me 25 minutes to get 500 gold for my warding item. I have NEVER had that take so long before. Even games when my entire team was feeding and my adc was incapable of farming.

Is the goal to make support beyond undesirable? People already fight each other to not play it. :/ Those of us who enjoy support are constantly getting shat on by our teammates and Riot. Might as well change the support role to "team's bitch".

Did you proc your support item once? What did you buy? Im guessing relic, and im guessing you did nothing.

You should average 8 minutes on completing this. You somehow over tripled that.

Im not even sure i could hold it out to 25 minutes if i TRIED to.

what happened was they reduced the gold per 10 on it. So its reliant on you proccing it to stack it.

You didnt stack it well at all. Also, relic was changed 8 patch ago. In January.

TLDR. MATH BELOW.

So out of 36 procs. You used 20. (if all on normal minions). Or you procced it on 4.6 seige minions, out of 36 procs.

You'd need to get better about using that relic shield. Or look up what people are doing. And realize that thresh players dont even take relic shield anymore because the health you recieve is halfed if you're ranged.

The goal wasnt to make support undisirable. You just didnt realize you played most of the game not using or thinking about your support item at all. At 19 minutes. You had 23 CS.

1 gold per 10 seconds 6 gold a minute. Took you 25 minutes for 500 gold. 6 x 25 = 150 you need 350 more gold.

Caster and melees average to 17.5 each. Seige minions are 75 average

Why did it take 20 minutes??? Well lets see. You need to hit 20 normal minions in 20 minutes. Or you needed to hit 4.6 Seige minions in 20 minutes.

Well many procs did you have. You upgraded to targons at 5 mins. You start off with 2 procs. Lets say you proc them both on the first wave. 2 procs at about 2 min. +1 every 40 seconds until 5 min. You get your 7th proc 5:20. Where it now recharges every 30 seconds. In 14:40 mins you'll get another 29 procs. So out of 36 procs. You used 20. Not even considering seige minions that greatly reduce this.

I'd say you'd need to get better about using that relic shield.
