"champions are too simple and binary riot fix them"

releases bard, yasuo, reksai, gnar, kalista WOW RIOT WTF CHAMPIONS ARE TOO OVERLOADED AND YOU'RE TRYING TOO HARD TO COMPLEX

not to mention all of the pre-emptive bitching i've seen about River King so far.

"hurrhurr he gonna have 5 passives 3 knockups, 2 stuns, and a slow hurr hurr i say this in every thread want to be my friend?"

riot obviously doesn't care about your stupid input that has no merit aside from "QQ OP PLS NERF" or "MORE BANS 2 MANY BROKENS"

just take some time, read about their kits, and figure out what they're weak against. then exploit it.

i know for a fact ekko isn't op. know why? because traditional long range mids beat him. bruisers/ap bruisers beat him. sorry if katarina, akali, zed, and extremely short range mages dont beat him. adjust your playstyle.

you wanna know who's really op? LeeSin(can literally do EVERYTHING) Thresh(huge q hitbox, get out of jail free w) Riven(AA cancels, massive ad steroids, resourceless, mobile) Katarina(one of the only champions who can go from 1/7 to 10/7 in 2 teamfights. mobile, resourceless, low cooldowns, resets on kill) Ahri(stupidly mobile, true damage, nearly impossible to gank) Cassiopeia(lane bully to the max/free stats come late game)Morgana(olaf r in her e+3 second snare, nope not op)Annie(she farms champions, a terror in botlane and top, meh in mid because counterplay through long range)

but nah. ekko with his extremely telegraphed q, w, and e is op.

the only champion i've seen in the last year that was gamebreakingly op on release is Kalista(25% jump back boost was op as fuck)

Yasuo was balanced on release, but noobs couldn't figure him out, begged for buffs, then screamed for nerfs until he got smashed with the nerf bat, and finally brought to a slightly sub 50 winrate.

Velkoz is very balanced

Bard was underpowered on release like the community wanted for a champion, and now gets rage from everyone when he gets picked

Gnar was kind of overtuned. too much tankiness and damage combined through his w passive. nerfed his base stats in mini and mega, and cooldowns for q based on that. now balanced.

tl;dr there were/still are MUCH worse offenders than ekko when it comes to being OP. he is just permabanned right now due to people not wanting to play against him, and therefore they never actually figure out his patterns because he's NEVER played.

Ay ay ay, say what you want about Drake Bell, but Josh Peck is a cool cat in my book.

And is the one champion who doesn't get complaints, because he has defined strengths, weaknesses, is complex, and isn't overloaded. Not to mention he didn't get buffed straight into god tier just one patch after being released.

So... yeah... I kind of don't know what your point is.

Agreed. If people want overly simple champs they can play dota lol

Yer I can take OP releases and problematic stats as long as they're not simply off the chart, but overloaded design is something I just can't stomach, it's driving the game away from the League I know,

So I did the last sensible thing I could do, I left the game.

I do still post though.

EDIT: while Annie is problematic to play against, I don't think she is trouble overall though.

But really, why isn't overloading an issue (such as the curious case of Ekko)? Let's strip it down to a basic question, "Is it fair to let the game divide into 2 types of champs, normal champ and superior champs who have just more things and opportunities to play around with?"

If you answer yes, then I'm sorry, you don't game balance.

my answer is this; change is inevitable. if they kept making overly simplified champions such as Annie Jax Nasus, there's bound to be champions considered mirror copies of others. the game would become stagnant and people would lose interest. so yes. it is necessary. these champions that are overly simplified are slated to be reworked anyway.

Yeah but there is a difference between being complex and overloading, Riot has been doing the latter for the most part lately.

A complex design is, as noob as it may sound, the reworked Yi and Sion (but I prefer to use Yi as the example), and not some nonsense like Zed, Kalista or Ekko.

Sorry for the down vote but the over agressiveness and insult of people does not help your cause here.

Mordekaiser short range mages can't do what?

Let's see:

  • Instead of simple and binary, champions like Kalista and Yasuo are complex and binary. How is that better? They are still binary.
  • You are using counterpicks to argue issues of balance ("X can't be OP because some champions beat him.") - the two are not really related at all.

counterpicks arent even necessary. just figure out how said op champion plays. you don't have to be a counter to beat someone. just smarter.
