Why are certain solo laners so clueless and toxic?

Situation: Toplaner died, enemy toplaner died (since our toplaner went all in before I was in range for the gank). Not I last hit, he is still 5 seconds dead. I am not using any abilities, just last hitting. Suddenly I get spammed pings on my head and our toplaner starts listing relatively particular sexual acts with a vast majority of my familiy members (I'm about 99% certain that they didn't take place).

Seriously, he is not loosing anything by me grabbing last hits while he is dead (he had no TP btw). Yet thanks due to the nature of the new jungle it helps me out a lot. Why the heck are people (saddeningly enough that guy was Gold II ) so incredibly mad if junglers hold their line WHILE THEY ARE DEAD. They don't loose ANYTHING.

  • Not to mention that I don't understand why people rage so hard over nothing and in that manner....

Part of the problem, is WHY they are a solo laner. They are not toxic because they are solo, they solo because they are toxic.

To be clear, what I mean by this: I am a solo laner. I DO NOT act as described by the op. But people who do tend to lack any level of teamwork skills, and are naturally quick to assume the opposing party is stupid/noob/etc.

Because of this, they go to a solo lane to reduce interaction with teammates. When a person comes into their lane, for any reason, if they do not get a kill out of it, they are generally angry.

EXAMPLE: I'm playing Veigar mid vs Annie. 'Somehow,' I'm winning lane. Top, a trynd vs a teemo (classic :'D) is losing horribly. I go up, ONLY ULTI and kill teemo. Trynd then spends the rest of the game talking about how my ks'ing is the reason he is losing lane. These people just happen. Accept it, mute them, move on.

The jungler's struggle. A classic.

Btw, and the last 1%?

Maybe I have a sister I don't know of. If I had I wouldn't know what she was doing in her free time.

I would have gone with the "I really don't investigate who or what my mother does on her spare time" approach, but this one is good, too

Sorry to have to break it to you But... not all junglers are cool like that. Your top laner, like many of us here, has been subjected to sooo many trolls/jerks/idiots that he was afraid you were giving his lane to the enemy that he felt compelled to ping before he looked.

I've made that mistake once where I pinged before looking, but apologized afterwards when I seen he wasn't pushing the lane. As jungler I've had to ignore or type "I'm just freezing your lane for you" numerous times because there are so many trolls in the game, so many selfish team sabotaging jerks, that people just expect it as what everyone does.

It's kinda sad but in this team game more people will completely screw you over and put you out of the game than help you even a little. I've had a few junglers come to my lane while I'm still in it, completely ignore the enemy as I try to lock them down for the gank, just to have them burn everything on the 3 waves of minis I had built up to freeze my lane and farm.

Anyway, it happens because riot let the trolls take over the game and let the community forget it's a team game and only focus on themselves.

I've met just as many toxic supports, adcs, and jungles as solo laners so...

Why are certain Junglers so clueless and toxic?

Situation: Toplaner died, enemy toplaner died. I push the wave into a disadvantageous way for my solo laner. He constantly pings me to back. So I just tell him to "STFU Noob. I'm pushing the wave for you".

Seriously, he is not gaining anything by me pushing the lane. If anything I'm putting him behind.

See? Anyone can make it seem like a person is terrible. Though the one that I just pointed out is a lot more common than a jungle who actually controls the wave just fine for the laner. I don't mind if a jungle actually holds my lane, soaks up the xp, etc...but when they screw me over, yeah, I get a little frustrated.

Well, no people only have to be to identify lasthitting as such ;)

Except a vast majority of players don't just go into the lane to just last hit. Most of the time they actually push the wave to the point where the laner has to be the enemy's tower in order to farm. Or the enemy can just freeze, etc...

You say it's something as simple as last hitting, and I wholeheartdly agree. But there are WAY too many times that jungles don't just last hit.

Go ahead and downvote this one too. Cause you clearly don't know what I'm saying.

Taxing lane is about timing to a laner.

lets say i am going even in lane and something goes horribly wrong so i die at level 4. Most likely he is level 5 now and he didn't push because he is low. Making the waves even give or take.

You as the jungler come to take the wave thinking that he will lose the minion wave as an excuse. Normally this isn't going to happen because he is already on his way back to tower and ends up getting the wave that you pushed. So by the time i get back to lane you have taken 1-2 of my minion waves while he just hit level 6 because he didn't lose any minions under his tower.

This leaves me at level 4 to just be denied even more when he can just bully me out even harder.

I do see you did nothing wrong from last hitting and maybe him as a laner had flash backs of other junglers screwing him over. I would just move on and let him vent.

As a jungler, I hate ganking top because they generally cry and moan if I take even a single cs no matter what the occasion...

Pay yo taxes if you want yo ganks.

I actually thank my jungler when they're nice enough to make sure the minion gold doesn't go to waste... :s

Depends about how the wave equilibrium is going.

The laner's reaction having an emotional breakdown wasn't warranted.

However, are you freezing it just outside of your own turret range? Or is the lane net pushing to the enemy turret because of your actions (even if just last hitting).

Kowe The Ewok1 votes

Lane was frozen exactly in the middle.

2pudge1cup1 votes

But how was it trending? It always has a direction it will inevitably go without assistance. Did the enemy have more minions or did you?

Kowe The Ewok1 votes

It was pretty even (IGNORABLY pushing to our turret). Didn't matter though since the first thing what happened when he cam back to his lane was butting an AoE on the enemy wave.

As I said in my original post, he doesn't sound terribly bright to begin with.

But there are times where even just last hitting can end up costing xp/gold and put the laner in a tougher position where they can be ganked easier.

One moronic dipshit shouldn't put an umbrella on all solo laners... just riven, fizz, and akali players :P

I usually play mid or ADC, and I don't really care if my team's jungler takes some creeps while I'm dead. Not like I can have them, right? I usually let them take a tax when they gank anyway, so I don't have a problem with them taking a few creeps even when I'm in lane. Sure, if they push and it's not a good time to push, I might get a little irritated, but I don't really care that much.

I've run into a lot of top laners verbally abusing me and our junglers when we gank and take some CS after they die. No idea why, but it seems to be more common with top laners than any other lane, in my experience.

I am honestly more disturbed you are only 99% certain that these supposed sexual acts never took place and not 100%..., but this isn't really answering your question, so I will get back on topic.

It is just ignorance. Technically the only thing you could have done were a whole bunch of "what ifs" which don't really come into play into AFTER something happens, so hindsight. The fact that he is pinging is more likely because he is raging and doesn't understand the game too much, so all you can do is just ignore him/her. Though it isn't the right thing to do, I usually give up on those lanes when people start to mistreat me like that and leave them alone. I'm not saying that you should do this, but if they are going to be like that to me, I kind of don't feel like helping them. Also in regards to toxicity, you can only really report them. Don't bother getting into an argument with them because it will just turn into a lose-lose situation, so the best method is to just stay quiet and try to communicate with the individual as little as possible.

WARLAG01 votes

Whats that? Are you trying to actually make those minions I wont get, give you the gold to complete an item sooner and help out your team more? Reported! Whats wrong with you?!

Nah but seriously I dont understand those people, I'd rather have my jungler take some cs and get gold to help the team in better ways than to just let the gold go to waste. If wave stays on your side cool, if it resets cool, if it pushes to the enemies side then play safe, ask for help, trinket, its not that hard.
