So I tried to give Jax a try again, only to get reminded why I stopped playing him.

Dodge dodges mord's Q! Which is good! Except it doesn't dodge the magic damage part.

Dodge dodges Sivir's Ricochet! Actually that's a lie all 3 attacks go directly through dodge.

Dodge dodges Xin's three talon strike! This one is true. All 3 attacks get dodged, but the knockup goes off at the end.

Dodge dodges Kog'maw's W! Hah, fooled you again.

Dodge dodges Darius's W! But the slow still goes through. No bleed stacks, no damage, but it slows.

Dodge dodges pick a card! Actually it dodges the auto attack damage, but not the magic damage, still applies lichbane, and does the stun.

CONSISTENCY RIOT. PLEASE GIVE CONSISTENCY.

Jax is at a 49% win rate. It wouldn't break the game for dodge to actually start dodging all the attack damage of special abilities and merely letting all the special effects go through. Jax is in a VERY VERY weak position right now with almost no lane recovery since he has no sustain, no ranged last hitting, and is incredibly squishy. Not to mention that a TON of other melee champions now out scale him due to new itemization, most notably Riven (who has the same base stats as him. Yes, the difference between Riven and Jax at level 18 is jax has 18 more HP, and 2 less armor.)

Think about what letting Jax dodge special attack damage would do:

It might finally make him good.

And before you say "BUT JAX DOMINATES EVERY LOW ELO GAME!" Shut up. No he doesn't. He has a 48% win rate at bronze, and a 49.05% win rate at silver. Jax actually peaks at Diamond with a 50% win rate, then plummets down again at mastes+ to 46% (for obvious reasons.) Low ELO actually holds DOWN Jax's win rate. He doesn't dominate low ELO.

I think it works the same way with Nasus Q

Yeah, because his E only dodges auto attacks? Additional effects still go thru, Nasus Q isnt blocked either I think, just the normal aa damage.

im wondering tho, was his E always that inconsistent or did riot gave more ''counterplay'' later on?

They have tendencies to nerf, then when too weak--buff something weird then keep prior nerfs in place. Sometimes the nerfs were whether mistaken or no longer relevant like in this case.

Any champ within 2-3% of that 50% mark is considered "balanced." It's impossible to bring all champions over 50% win rate. While I agree some of these seem like if the attack itself was dodged, so should the bonus effects, using win rates isn't the right approach to argue from.

Iiis working as intended, you know? It blocks attack damage and on hit damage, but not spells or attack modifiers

I think it's funny when people try to tell me jax isn't in a good spot. You literally cant blind pick him or someone could pick one of his MANY COUNTERS- nasus, chogath, malphite, singed, fiora, etc..they rework fiora, give her incredible base stats and allow her to parry ANYTHING for .75 seconds, but jax cant dodge simple things like Nasus Q? Rito plz... Jax doesn't even fully counter any meta top laners, the only time I pick him is if I know I can survive against the enemy top laner like shen
