Please Fix Your Ranked 5s Queuing

I play on a ranked 5s team with two Gold 3s (one is me), a Gold 5, a Bronze 1 and an unranked at around mid-silver elo. Went 3-5 in placements, largely against higher ranked players, got placed B1. Okay, whatever. But that's not the problem.

The problem is last night we get a match with 2 Diamonds and 3 Platinums. When the entire team is so soundly overmatched in in every single position and in a ranked game at that, there is simply zero possible chance of a fair game.

Right before a patch most people stop playing Ranked (which would be last night). If the player pool is really small then matchmaking will have to widen the search parameters, and may eventually have to put you in a match like that.

To avoid getting bad matches like this, don't play during low traffic times where there're far less teams to play against.

Also, your LP loss shouldn't be much when you're pit against a group with much higher MMR. That's how the system works; if the system thinks you have a smaller chance of winning you'll lose less and win more.

This is nearly every game. Almost every team is majority of players above everyone we have. We play against more plats than anything. It has been the norm for months, although this particular match was exceptional in how unfair it was.

Ranked 5s get placed off a team Elo not the individual players. I have a 5 team that is s2 or something like that and we are all plat+. Separate mmr for solo and teams

I'm aware. And it's absurd. When a team is so individually overmatched, there's no chance to even reach the "team" stage of the game. It's like putting a high school football team against a college team (NA football, but I guess the analogy carries over...)

But even a football team loaded with individual talent won't beat a team that works better together than they can. Yes individually each lane is better, but with the right team calls and moves a team of lower skilled players can beat higher skilled if they work together better.

Really? Try winning a baseball game when the opponents' pitcher is so good that nobody can hit the ball
