So the new support items are great, especially Coin, but...

I definitely felt the hit from the lack of healing on minion death as Soraka. I was left with less health than usual when putting out heals, moreso mid to late game (since pushing waves with team usually gives me a great amount of healing). I was also pretty disappointed when I hit level 10 after using the elixir and didn't get to put a second point into my ultimate.

But yeah, overall the new coin feels amazing and kept me very interactive in the game. I could fee the indirect nerf on Soraka, though. It hurt pretty bad, not badly so but having a Maokai support harass me and the damage sticking longer than usual sucked.

Well that makes me nervous as a Raka player.

I'll try to get around it by going health regen runes and Maxing/landing Q more often to try to offset before going spell theifs tho.

Soraka Main here.

Haven't played with new coin line yet, but (in theory) seems like it hits Soraka pretty hard by reducing her overall sustain in lane and mid-game.

My typical runes:

  1. Flat HP Regen Quints
  2. Scaling HP Regen Seals
  3. Scaling AP Marks/Glyphs (optional: take armor reds and MR blues for more safety early).

I like this build as it contributes to a more powerful self heal on Q (w/ scaling AP) and also makes up for your horrible base HP regen.

As long as you can avoid getting hit by AA's & abilities, the lane sustain is great.

lol I won't ever buy coin on her, doesn't make sense. If you can go spellthief and get the same gold/lvl with additional ap and dmg. I went coin and my adc destroyed 2 waves and I got 1 coin drop lol. fuck that

I had a game when I laned as support against her with coin, she was basically a free kill whenever she closed in to pick a coin up, rofl.

Agreed. Sometimes those coin drops feel like a desert... I also find i'm starved for mana; the mana coins aren't as reliable or effective as mana regen.

So coin is really that bad huh?

For someone like soraka yes, Im not even going to test it I just switched over to item 3303 and got regen runes.

Yeah, it's kind of bad on Soraka after a few games. It's really hard to sustain and keep yourself healthy and alive with the new coin. You have to play more passively than ever because, let's be honest: Rejuvenate doesn't do a great job of refilling your health given how long it takes to tick and how much it heals per tick. Coin played a large part in how much health Soraka would get along with Rejuvenate.

I warned Riot the coin changes would indirectly nerf Soraka, and I asked if they'd be watching her. A Rioter said they would, but only time can tell if they truly are watching her after this.

I've always taken health regen quints on Soraka, and now it's not making that huge of a difference. You're casting Astral Infusion often, especially against aggro lanes and aggro opponents, and Rejuvenate isn't able to keep up as well without coin's healing.

It'd be great if they added a coin that restores say, 4% to 8% of missing health or just add it onto the mana coin.

I never got coin on anyone so this change doesn't effect me at all. even on soraka I always got spellthiefs edge and built ap because her heals are rediculous. land 1 q and you go from 1/4 health to full health.
