it is just me or right now every ap champion is an off tanK?

thats because they removed the powerhouse ap items, namely zhonyas and dfg. people dont have as much access to raw AP or penetration like back in the day.

back in the day.... dfg -> rab cap was disgustingly powerful for mages who... actually wanted to deal damage and kill something by magic damage.... and landing skill shots.

so basically people are considering rab cap to be optional in a build because it wont give enough to 1hko someone, and you may as well get something else with cdr or utility on it instead.

compare ludens to rylias right now.

same ap, slight extra burst sometimes on ludens and 10% ms for dodging, over 40% slow for kiting. the bonus damage isn't enough to kill someone. so you still need a second ability hit to get the job done.

id rather take rylias any day. ludens damage is just negligible. and oh look, rylias gives 400 health, nice.
