Yorick

Hidden Passive: Everyone forgets he exists in teamfights, especially as support Yorick.

His Q is an Auto attack reset.

His W slow increases with rank. (Max as support Yorick)

His E lets him heal himself up.

Spirit Visage and Gunblade together on him make him heal to full hp after two combos from almost dead.

He scales with everything.

His ult allows him to make a clone of himself or an ally with 45% of the target's AD which he can control like a Mord clone. If the targeted ally dies, then the clone sacrifices himself to reanimate the ally for 10 sec at full hp and no mana costs. So please don't run away when you die and are in your 10 sec window to avenge yourself.

Spam laugh and mastery every time you kill anyone. Bonus points if it is over their dead body.

Soraka

Ask the ADC if you guys can switch summoners. You taking Heal is better since a) You can now increase the heal value on your ADC by 10% and give the MR/Armor buff (thanks Windspeakers) and b) you use your own hp in fights and when it gets to teamfights this helps keep you alive to heal more and increases your burst heal potential tremendously. Exhaust is better for dueling since it only works on one enemy and it reduces AS/Damage as well as their defenses.

Get Mikael's.

Get Ardent Censor.

Get Spirit Visage and Warmogs if you can late game.

Don't heal allies in laning phase unless you hit your Q.

Spam laugh and mastery every time you kill anyone. Bonus points if it is over their dead body.

Sion: -your shield is your friend. -best to max abilities you hit with often. -your E can shoot champion summoned units like Tibbers (but not sand soldiers or tentacles). -a point blank ult is sometimes better than a fully charged ult.

Poppy: Assassin masteries into tank builds apparently works better than using tank masteries on her. For some fucking stupid reason.

MonkeyKing:

  • pressing S lets you stop whatever you are doing and looks exactly like you used your decoy. With the right timing, you can trick the enemy into thinking you used your decoy.
  • item 3094 passive does stack with his Q, Increasing his range further than it already does and lets you poke from a safer distance.
  • As a diver, Wukong excels at singling out a high priority target. Unlike most divers though, Wukong is more teamfight oriented due to the nature of his passive, E, W and Ult. the best tactic in a team fight is to go in with your E, use your Q on your chosen target and Ult so the rest of your team can follow up. The reduced armor on your target will make your Ult more effective and any AD champs attacking them will also do more damage.
  • His ult is one of the most versatile Ults in the game. It has great synergy almost any champ, but some work better than others. Some of the best champs to use with his Ult are Malphite MissFortune Gangplank AurelionSol Velkoz Galio .
  • Wukongs passive grants him 4/6/8 bonus Armor and Magic resist for every visible nearby enemy. that means at max, you get 40 bonus armor and magic resist. A respectable amount, but it doesn't make you invincible in a team fight, plus you are much more vulnerable in a 1v1 due to the lack of bonus armor/MR. Buying yourself at least one armor and MR item will save your life.

Thresh Your Lantern acts as a structure and if thrown in the right spot like between a tower and a wall it can change the pathing of a fleeing enemy and allow for easier hooks.

Bard Enemies inside your magical journey are still targetable. If you can intercept them mid journey, you can stun/stasis them partway through. This goes for you and your allies as well, so be careful of champions like Blitzcrank, who can hook you out of your tunnel.

If your ADC is kind enough to ask who you want to play with, request Caitlyn. She is safe enough to not die when you roam, you can stop people from bodyblocking her ult with Tempered Fate, and she can set up traps under the feet of golden enemies. Ashe is also good, as the combo of Ashe and Bard has god like pick potential.

Your ult has a long travel time. As such, it is likely that, once you fire it, people like Zed, Zac, and Rumble will burn all their cooldowns trying to hit whatever you just turned into a statue. You will be blamed for this, even though they cast their spells after you. This is just a fact of life, prepare yourself for it.

Spellthiefs is amazing on Bard, but coin has its place. First, if you suck at Bard, always start Coin until you learn to trade safely. Second, if the enemy teamcomp is full AD (especially snowbally AD's like Draven), start coin, since Talisman grants 45 armor now. Third, if you have a Stampede comp, the Talisman active is MUCH better than the Frost Queens active. So, if you have Hecarim jungle, Sivir ADC, and Karma mid against a team of 5 Zeds, you should probably start coin.

Bard is great against Jhin, because his ult negates curtain call. Jhin's ult gives away his exact position, which makes your ult much easier to land.

If you have a ludens echo, you can proc thunderlords in one meep empowered hit. Never underestimate the power of Thunderbard.

Meeps remove Banshees veil and all other spell shields.

Meeped attacks proc both onhit and spell effects. This is the same deadly combination that allows Fizz and Evelynn to kill squishies with a single button press, and one should not underestimate a Bard with Rapidfire Cannon and Ludens Echo.

When you rank up your shrines, existing shrines are upgraded.

If you intend on playing Bard in ranked, you should buy a skin. On the basic Bard skin, there is hardly any difference between a prepared shrine and a newly placed shrine. On both of Bards skins, it is extremely clear when a shrine is prepared.

Ulting your own team is a valid means of baiting the enemy. DO NOT DO THIS IN SOLO QUEUE.

alt-W can be used to instantly heal and speed yourself.

Pets and clones can go through magical journey. Combo with a Mordekaiser to send a dragon flying at mach 5 into the enemy team.

Tempered Fate goes through allied spell immunity. Just in case your Malzahar is a dick.

If neither team is going to invade (you can tell from team comps most often), start W, set up 1 shrine at your junglers first camp and two in lane (or just 3 in lane if you have an Elise or Shaco), and then recall for mana.

I like to take a second point in my heal before maxing Q. There is a big difference between having 210 health in reserve and having 330 health in reserve. (personal preference).

Bard has shit AP ratios on Q and Passive, so don't run AP runes. Attack speed, Attack damage, Hybrid penetration, Movement speed, or just tank stats are all better alternatives.

Against lane bullies, divers, and Blitzcrank, take meditation in your masteries. You will be forced to spend a lot of mana on heals, and will not have many opportunities to run into the jungle to recoup mana with chimes, since your ADC will likely die without your presence. Otherwise, dangerous game will save your ass quite often.

Bard's E can be cast on the sides of the map just outside of your base in top and bot lane.

On Treeline, if the enemy doesn't draft a tank, Bard can be a nasty little fucker with this build. item 3285 item 3094 item 3020 item 3146 item 3090 item 3100

KONO RUBICK DA7/5/2016, 4:54:19 PM5 votes

you can cast spell steal and AT THE SAME TIME cast the last spell you stole before it is replaced with the other spell you stole, this allow you to steal 2 ulti in a fight instead of 1. Too much mechanics for you to understand.

Sona no hidden tips.

Thresh "Pretty Sure They're Actually Just Bugs"

While thresh has windups, all of his abilities can be casted during these windups, think instead of a self stun, its a self root. Thanks to this, he can blow his entire combo while he's dead, expect his lantern, which disappears upon death.

If a melee champ is hitting creeps, you can walk up the creep wave and flay them towards you, most times this puts the minions behind you for a real sneaky hook.

The new coin is great on Thresh. No seriously go build it.

SSW is a bugged as shit skin that basically spazzes out when collecting souls, if you collect a soul while casting q or other abilities, it has no animation until the hook or whatever comes out at which point his arm bends backwards. Skin to win.

Thresh aa is not blocked by windwall.

Thresh q has some strange rules, while banshee veil and sivir passive block the hook entirely and prevent him following, morgana and malzahar passive does let him follow the hook, they will not, however, suffer any cc from the hook.

There is no range limit on hook tether, theoretically, Thresh could follow you from his fountain all the way to yours.

While Thresh follows his q, he travels a set speed no matter the distance. So there may be time to walk around as he follows the hook. You can flash, dash, zhonyas, whatever during this time. You can even go under your tower during this time, bringing Thresh along with you.

While in teamfights, repeatedly casting hook is great for cc, but most new players loss out of the disposition after the first one, if you dont intend to use it follow the hook, walk backwards with it so they dont end on top of you, wasting an effect of your q.

Draven -Don't be afraid to waste your W in order to catch an axe. -Wait for your opponent to use an important high cd ability, then go extremely aggressive (make sure your support can fallow you). -Do not let them call you Draven, they shall only call you Draaaaaaven. -If you are snowballing go IE and play extremely aggressive. -Make sure you last hit the cs and don't just chase kills. -Try keeping your E on cd, for an effective use (usually stopping a dash or a channel using the knock-back) Janna -Don't spam your Q in laning faze, and max it last. -Don't hesitate to use your e on a turret. -In laning faze, make sure you shild your adc after they release there aa. -Try rushing sight stone, and switch to sweeping lanes as soon as you get your sight stone, and upgrade it to item 3364 once you get to lvl 9 -Only upgrade your sight stone after you are full build Zed -Make sure your opponent won't be able to engage on you after you use your W. -Play passive while your W is on cd and farm with your Q. -Try throwing your shurikens immediately after you use you W, and aim them a bit left/right to the enemy champion. -Try split pushing as much as possible, and teamfight less. -Don't melee range a fighter (unless you are snowballing heavily), wait for them to approach you and use their gap closers, then use your ult, then W away and lend your burst. https://media3.giphy.com/media/xTiTno1ju4OXEUL5Sg/200w.gif

Diana -Always take at least 12 points in Resolve for increased shield gain and reduced flash cooldown. -You can animation cancel your E channel with flash. This is extremely useful when jungling, since it enables you to gank at least once pre 6. -Ulting to someone who is being pulled by Moonfall puts you about 1 Teemo behind them. For this same reason, try to save Moonfall until the enemy tries to run.

agbudar7/5/2016, 5:01:04 PM4 votes

Mordekaiser with windspeaker blessing is actually really good Braum gotta use that shield to block poke the enemy adc will most likely go oom before you Caitlyn for example. Garen his spin cannot be stunned its what makes him a counter to riven. ow and if you pop your W before the riven does her combo. the irony of this is the better riven is at landing her combo the more they counter themselves due to garen's W short duration. Shen gets increased AA range when he pops his Q even though his tooltip does not say anything about that.

La Barbotte7/5/2016, 9:46:42 PM4 votes

Riven when you lose lane you can save 30 minutes by going afk

Grithok7/5/2016, 4:49:28 PM4 votes

Sion

-In lane, get as close as possible to q. People almost ALWAYS dodge backwards, even when it's not the fastest way out of his zone. -Last hits are great for your shield passive, but you really don't need to take that early, the first 2 or even 3 levels won't contain enough CS for it to make a major difference. If you feel like you have a real chance to bully, two points in your q doesn't hurt. -If they interrupt your Q channel, you get it back with most of the CD refunded, don't just back off if they stop it. Your q will be back before their next interrupt. -If you just instant cast q without charging, it will hit max range for min damage. Fantastic for last hitting under tower.

Other tips are already covered here, but I'll paste them for convenience. Ralanr -your E can shoot champion summoned units like Tibbers (but not sand soldiers or tentacles). LTMetal -You can even use Sion shout to push Harold and make him attack your enemies.

Nautilus

-Don't use E right after you hook/root. It does the most damage if you can hit all three rings as they walk away after the trade. -Hooking yourself back into lane is a fantastic way to practice the max range of the hook. It's deceptively long range. -CDR gives more damage than AP. -When your shield is on, you apply a DOT in an aoe around whatever you AA. It stings, and if you last hit an enemy minion to apply the dot, you won't draw minion aggro. Combine with E to punish an enemy melee champ for last hitting. -When your ult hits anything, it pulls them towards you a small amount. It doesn't matter if it's the detonation or just the pathway knockup. Both pull forward. The distance is enough to pull them over thin walls, like at Dragon/Baron pit.

Other tips Urgot Doggy Dogg -shield reset his aa

Udyr : Your E lets you go trough units. When fighting try to get in front of them so they have to go around you to run away.

Valeckserai7/5/2016, 6:35:30 PM3 votes

Karthus Death Defiled: this is what allows you to build him as a full ap glass cannon and still get to participate in teamfights after you dive in and are bursted down. This automatically activates defile and will do good damage to anyone that stays on top of you. It only keeps you around for 7 seconds, meaning you have time to cast q twice (unless you've built in cdr) before you are unable to cast your ultimate, as if you wait until there are less than the three seconds required to channel your ult it will lock the skill out and you won't be able to use it until you resurrect. Keep in mind that this is the safest time to ult as it is impossible for the enemies to interrupt it.

Lay Waste: your most important skill (max this first), use it to farm and harass in early levels. Try to set it up on the edge of a group of minions to get all of the damage onto just one of them, as it will double the damage and make it much easier to farm without wasting mana. If you hit a single enemy champion with this, then it will prod the full effect of deathfire touch. Try to remember what directions your opponents like to dodge in. Once you have item 3070 or item 3010 (I build both on him), it will be easy to throw out your q just to test their reaction without having to worry about wasting mana. Once you determine how they dodge, try to place your q in that direction so it hits them anyways. Once you've built your fist full item (usually item 3027) you can use this ability to push the wave incredibly hard, and force the opponent to farm under tower for most of the game. MAKE SURE YOU DON'T OVERESTIMATE YOUR ABILITIES IF YOU DO THIS. If their jungler is a bursty assassin or has lots of cc this is incredibly dangerous as it forces you to be by their tower a lot and you are squishy as hell. If the enemy is pushed under tower you can also use this to hit them and run out of turret range before it fires on you due to the long range and delayed explosion.

Wall of Pain: many people underestimate this ablity (but you still max it last), but the MR shred and slow that it provides can be the difference in winning a duel, teamfight, or in catching an enemy that would have gotten away if your ult is down. The mana cost in early game is outrageous so use it sparingly if at all until you have a decent mana pool built up. You need to know both your damage output on the enemy and theirs on you before using this in a duel. You only get to use this ONCE per duel due to the cooldown and you need to decide between putting it right on top of them after they engage to get more damage onto them, or in blocking their escape so that they can't try and run away. If you're ahead then its probably better to block the escape rout as you have enough damage in your q and e to kill them most likely. If you're even, put it on top of them to get all the damage onto them that you can. You can also use this when pushing turrets by placing it on the far side of the turret so enemies are cautious of approaching you, potentially allowing you to kill the turret or run away before they engage you under it.

Defile: the active and passive are both amazing on this abilty (max it second). The passive allows you to regain mana every time you kill anything, which lets you farm with your q without depleting your mana entirely. If you kill minions with just auto attacks (which is not fun, his autos suck) then you can regain tons of mana. The active costs lots of mana, but if you build both item 3027 and item 3040 then you can keep it around for a long time. Its best to use the active in all ins or for when you're trying to escape from enemies. Keep mele opponents at the edge of the circle so that you are dealing damage to them but they aren't dealing damage to you.

Requiem: always check the map whenever this is up, look for all ins or for enemies that just barely escaped. NEVER use this in the middle of your lane, try to use it under tower, at base, or when you are dead. This has a SUPER long cooldown and you need to make sure every time you use it that it makes a difference.

Karma (Support)

-Level Q first in lane, but move on to your shield when

  • The lane phase is over and your teamfighting
  • Poking isn't worth it because you cant hit them, or they are shrugging off the damage

-Use RQ on single and or low targets only, use RE in teamfights

-When low, tag a jungle monster with RW to heal yourself

-Ardent Censor is ridiculously strong on Karma and her multitude of team wide shields, pick her on a team that can utilize attack speed to a useful degree

AstreaSoul7/5/2016, 6:19:10 PM2 votes

Sona Stay at 2 power chord stacks as much as possible early lane. Casting any skill to get the third stack resets your attack timer. Use this to proc Thunderlord's much easier. Even if you don't use Thunderlord's, you still get an extra basic attack.

item 3145 + Thunderlord's makes for some hilarious damage that people don't expect. You can combo this with ult and summoner 14 to get some serious burst. Revolver is only 1050 gold and doesn't need to be built any further than that. Get early if you get some early kills in lane - it can even be worth delaying item 2049 if you're really snowballing - or just want to mess around. Avoid if you're behind or don't have Thunderlord's.

Power Chord usage tips - If poking or bursting with ult, use blue. If a big damage threat is diving your backline, or you're involved in a skrimish, use green. If an enemy is running away, catch them with purple. Blue = Damage ; Green = Enemy does less damage ; Purple = Slows enemy.

Don't forget to tag people with your happy circles. They give nice buffs. Don't wander into Viktor ults - or anything that doesn't look friendly, for that matter - to do it though.

Always look for summoner 4 + Ult opportunities!

Ban Blitzcrank. Seriously, screw this guy

Tribbles Foxfolk7/5/2016, 5:41:42 PM2 votes

Sona Q prioritizes Champions that are in range. Power Chord does NOT lose its charge on Wards. Power Chord Q does tons of damage, Power Chord W reduces enemy damage output, and Power Chord E does a heavy slow.

Nami E does not apply until the attack projectile actually lands, so you can potentially secure a kill by E'ing yourself/your ADC while their attack is mid-flight.

Gnar Don't pick Gnar anymore. He's just bad compared to other bruiser/tanks/damage-dealers.

Caitlyn Headshot procs from Traps and Net resets your autoattack fully. (e.g.: You can auto someone, they step on your cupcake, and you instantly reattack them) Q does less damage after the first target hit, but it becomes wider. .50 Caliber Net does NOT go over most terrain.

Soraka Rush Mikael's + Ardent Censer. The passives stack, granting +30% heal power.

-you can use your Q at the moment when your W ends for a guaranteed hit

-item 3078 is perfect for Tahm Kench- mobility, attack speed, damage and health combined into one item (also, get some atk. speed runes- it's one of the most important things for him)

-you can spam /joke and /taunt even if you have devoured an enemy >:)

MissFortune When using Miss Fortune don't make it obvious you are about to use your Q. Use it at a time when the enemy adc (or their support) is focus on getting their Cs. The best way to get the max damage of her Q is to wait for a minion who is low that they are standing behind. Using your Q will then cause it to crit the person behind them, or just causes more damage because of her passive (love tap). If the enemy team has Janna try to tease her shield. When it's on cooldown use your Q on a minion to get to her adc. She can't heal them back like Soraka or Sona. Whenever you're against Soraka try to use your Q on her adc so it will bounce off to towards her. More damage towards her because of love tap.

Don't spam her e (make it rain) it uses way too much mana. If you are going the Korean build (I don't since I hate change) definitely don't spam make it rain since you can't get the mana back fast enough to retaliate when your jungler is going to gank or if the enemy is honing down on you. I save Make it rain as a disengage (for myself and for teammates that are running away who are not as fast as Miss Fortune when her strut is up) or an engage to slow the enemies down for my jungler to gank or for my support to stun them.

Miss Fortune Ult hurts a ton, but is hard to set up (if your team has little to no CC), a bad ult is unuseful and worst can get you killed. Your best friends are Amumu Sion Sona Malphite MonkeyKing and sometimes Bard. If you can play the back line well they will be the ones to stun the enemy team long enough for your ult to do a megaton of damage, if your fed you will get at least a double or assist. Also don't be afraid to cancel when the enemy is coming after you. You are still easy as hell to kill off, no reason to die and feed the enemy more if the team fight goes the way of the enemy.

I'm still learning more ways to play Miss fortune and someone gave me a small advice on using your passive when it comes to torrents. When you see a minion wave, use your W (for the speed boost) hit a minion then hit the turret do this back and forth. Your passive gives more damage to a new target use that to your advantage.

Aatrox If you bring ignite (I usually don't) at level 2 you can cheese an enemy if you get W level 1 and Q level 2. Switch to Blood Price and get the third strike ready. As soon as you hit level 2 (Make sure you're pushing the enemy so that you hit level 2 first) grab Q and go in on them and ignite them as soon as you land and their health bar will explode. Most enemies won't expect it. Just be sure you kill them or at least push them out if you do this or you wasted your ignite and you don't have your E which is very useful.

You can win almost any lane as Aatrox by simply focusing on poking them down and out-sustaining them. Play kinda like Nasus. Only fight when you know you have the advantage and focus very hard on farming. Get ganks from your jungler and get ahead and then no one can fight you. Aatrox plays a lot like Nasus. Just farm. He scales incredibly well with Attack Speed and Lifesteal so Botrk is almost always my first item on him followed by a defensive item (Spirit Visage if I'm ahead or against an AP, Sunfire or DMP if I'm even or behind against an AD.) Sometimes I will get Maw first or second if the situation calls for it.

Talon Your E has 750 range and increases your damage to the enemy you blink to and slows them making your passive proc on them. Combined with flash you have a 1175 range blink. This is farther than any adc can auto attack you unless you get hit by a trap or a net from Caitlyn. Using flash ever so slightly before E can catch the enemy team off guard when you just instantly blink into them from a very long distance away and blow up a squishy real fast and chunk the rest of the team with your AoE abilities, although you probably will sacrifice your life to do so unless your team follows up VERY quickly.

Sassmast3r7/5/2016, 10:29:08 PM1 votes

Nami

Use your ult prior to using your Q on someone, as your ult will slow them down so much AND knock them up briefly that it becomes much easier to land her Q, almost guaranteeing a kill for your team.

Karma

You are more tanky than you realize. When fighting against super mobile ADCs (like Kalista or Vayne) there are many instances where you can run up to them in the middle of their own minion wave, hit them with a W and an ulted E, and (hopefully) your own ADC will quickly approach (I find this tactic works best with a Lucian) and destroy that ADC in seconds with the enemy support usually not able to prevent you from killing the ADC fast enough.

YoshixZeFabulous7/5/2016, 10:37:18 PM1 votes

Haven't seen a post for Nocturne yet so here you go.

Q: Gives extra 15-55 bonus AD while standing in the trail. When playing Nocturne, stand in the trail as often as you can and max Q to make the most of this. 55 extra AD is a lot. While playing against him, keep this in mind. He will have more power than you give him credit for, even if you're a little ahead.

W: Passively gives him attack speed. Also contributes to him being able to win trades/duels that people may not expect him to be able to, but the real punch is that this attack speed bonus is doubled for a few seconds after blocking an ability with the spell shield. Try to block CC abilities after using E to 1. keep them from escaping tether range and 2. grant you more attack speed while they're feared.

E: It's a tethered ability, so NOTHING breaks it except leaving range. If you get it off, it can be used through Fizz e, item 3157, etc. It's also useful for stopping channeled abilities, such as Fiddlesticks W, Katarina R, and Malzahar R (The tether also lasts long enough that it can be used to pop his passive, have it expire and apply the fear after CC immunity wears off) Max this 2nd; it increases the fear duration.

R: Stopping vision is a much more powerful tool than it gets credit for. It can be used to stop (or at least make considerably more difficult) Baron and Dragon steals. Also, when an enemy Nocturne ults, you can't see anything besides your towers, which means your ability to summoner 12 is very limited. When he's on your team, if you all coordinate well enough you can use this to effectively stop an enemy from summoner 12ing into a teamfight. Granted they'll be able to after the 4 seconds, but most teamfights are already over in those 4 seconds.

Nocturne can initiate teamfights when built tanky, but he doesn't have any real hard engage. I generally only pick him if the team's top, jungle or support has hard engage that I can easily follow up: Alistar Leona Zac JarvanIV Vi Malphite to name a few. When Nocturne gets on top of somebody squishy and/or immobile, it's very difficult for them to kite him out on their own (I've even been able to keep up with Kalista), which is why I prefer to follow champions that can lock down entire teams.

As a Nocturne, if you can you want to dive the ADC, use R > Q (you can use this while still in flight during your ult) > E. Use your W intelligently after the ult and early during the E channel to block some of the CC that will come in and get the attack speed boost. In 1v1 scenarios, use W early in the E channel or not at all. You don't need the shield at the end, since they will be feared.
