Ezreal is the safe/crutch pick that people use that suck at ADC. Not saying he's not good, just saying that the winrate is not accurate because some people don't use him to his full potential.
Plz explain this so called full potential so i Understand better that statement
In short, the less experienced Ezreal players miss a lot of skillshots.
The ones that just hang back in team fights throwing Q as their only damage source and saving E for an excape are the bad ones.
The ones that position correctly, AA frequently utilizing passive, and use E to reposition and continuing to deal damage are using his kit more efficiently.
I didn't mean people that main Ezreal suck. He is just a safe pick that less skilled players use to not feed. IE Turtle had to use Ezreal to stop feeding GAM or they would have lost the series at MSI.
Funny. Ezreal often sits pretty high for the amount of deaths per game.
Hey lets buff the safest ADC in the game just cause people cant figure out that he can also auto attack
Eh. When Ezra mains remember they are allowed to build I.e. it will probably even out.
Yeah but his Q can't crit I think.
Yeah but his Q can't crit I think.
But shiv works on it, and Ez is allowed to AA. He has a great as boost
You may as well play Lucian then.
You may as well play Lucian if you decide to actually use your auto attacks?
Ezreal can and should use his autos of course, but if you're going to focus around autos, I think Lucian is better. His passive works somewhat similarly and doesn't need to be stacked up. His E fulfills the same role as Ezreal's, and he has better waveclear than Ezreal.
Ezreal's strength relative to Lucian is mostly in his Q. Even Ezreal's E is only about as strong as Lucian's during a fight if you need to stay in autoattack range.
Ezreal is my highest mastery champ and only ADC I ever played constantly in 6.5 years of playing league and I still have no idea how to buff him properly. His skills are spamable enough that in the right hands, if buffed, he will be broken af. He just seems too dependant on meta and items, but honestly since he is the only champ in the game that constantly stacks muramana, every single game, maybe a buff to muramana is the right way to go. Any other opinion ?
I'd maybe say give his Q a small crit ratio. Something around 1.2-1.3x, IE would increase that to 1.3 or 1.45 respectively.
I feel like opening up his build path so he's not reliant on Sheen/BotRK/Muramana every game might really help, that way he doesn't just die when one of his items falls off. Plus Statik Shiv was at one point very good on Ezreal, allowing it to crit on his Q could open back up "Yellow Build Ez" again, which I think is a good alternative to the current Tri>BotRK>Muramana spam you see every game.
1.8 or 1.95 respectively. Even if the crit did no extra damage at all it would be 1.5 with IE.
Anyway I've always said that it should be able to crit. It's just an autoattack on a skillshot.
That's not how IE works. You take the bonus damage, in this case 20% and multiply it by 1.5, bringing it to 30% bonus or 130% overall from 120%. You can see this if you look at how Yasou's Q crits.
For a normal crit this is 100%x1.5=150+100=250%. For Yas's Q this is 75%x1.5=112.5+100=212.5%
They are buffing tear to gain 8 mana per spell cast instead 4. That will be a buff to Muramana and a buff to Ezreal so he can powerspike earlier.
Pretty sure that was ARAM only unless I am miss-remembering.
Yea, your probably right. That does seem a little strong lolz
I think Ezreal's win rate is a product of the meta item build for him not being ideal on him atm. Blue build is all about kiting, but atm, it's more important for an ADC to bring damage and lots of than it is for the ADC to be super hard to catch. You can ditch the
and
, and instead get items like
and
/
(Q doesn't crit, your basics do, and you should have a LOT of AD and a bunch of free AS, so your basic attack DPS is actually pretty good for a caster ADC, get the most out of that). This also allows you to go double lifesteal (
+
, which makes your dueling really strong).
uhm I kinda agree with you but ditching muramana doesn't seem like a good idea, you get muramana for 2 reasons:
1.- Ezreal is a heavy mana hungry champion in accordance to his passive, Tear and muramana allow you to keep your passive up as much as you need to
2.- Ezreal is one of the few who can in fact stack muramana effectively, this means that he can make it evolve super fast (in comparison) and he can double its cost effectiveness in an optimal way
Ditching it will set you behind on many fronts, and Essence reaver being the only item that can come close to sustain Ezreal's damage, won't help you much when you need to jump away and fight from range
his kit is fine and has the most synergy compared to other champions. kit is the wrong thing to be looking at

Ezreal's kit is fine?!?!
Ezreal has the only ability in the entire game that I would deem genuinely worthless to its owner. Essence Flux has low base damage, high mana cost, it can't help you push or last hit and it has no AD ratio. It is a terrible ability that needs to be entirely replaced.
It's only of dubious value to AD Ezreal (and it's base damage isn't actually that terrible, btw). It's quite strong on AP Ezreal, and Hybrid Ezreal (which works btw, though I've yet to see people build him that way in pvp, nor have I tried to theorycraft a proper full 6-item build for it).
AP Ezreal is just a bad idea. No matter how much damage AP Ezreal brings to the table, his complete lack of crowd control means he is simply sub-par for any team to bring to the table compared to another mid laner.
The base damage on Essence Flux might be decent but because it deals magic damage it is definitely a very low amount for AD Ezreal.
Ezreal simply won't function as a mage without crowd control so Riot should try and make him more of an AD caster type that would build Essence Reaver instead of Muramana.
Depends on teamcomp, AP Ezreal mid is fine if the rest of your team composition has plenty of CC. This is part of why his win rate usually sucks: people don't know how to adapt their build/strategy to the situation at hand with him because his itemization calculus is unique.

Very few marksmen have any CC, that's why mid laners usually take up that role. Putting a champion with a marksman's kit in the mid lane knowing that you're going to put another marksman bot is just asking for trouble. And in that case there are just better champions that deal MORE damage than Ezreal. If you're going to gimp your team with a CC-less AP mid, why would you pick Ezreal over Katarina?
Katarina would be a terrible pick in a siege focused team composition, Ezreal is great in such comps. Ap Ezreal's also ranged, which is very helpful against comps with good point-blank hard CCs and/or counter-engage tools (where Katarina would be a mistake to pick btw).
Yeah but you could just pick
or
or
...hell,
has more mobility, more damage, sustain and hard CC. Ezreal brings nothing important or relevant to his team as a mid laner.
Only Lux has similar reach on her poke, and she doesn't have mobility and is squishier. Ahri is only one more mobile, and that's only during her ult. All of them have to spend more mana to siege; Ezreal's Q is pretty cheap and spammable and, with Lich Bane on an AP build, does a LOT of damage, which is also part physical, part magic btw, which creates a dilemma for the enemy itemization wise (it's harder to counterbuild hybrid damage, especially hybrid poke). Ezreal's mobility also isn't tied to his ult, so doesn't have the dilemma of 'do I drop my ult cooldown here for the mobility or hold it and risk getting caught?' that Ahri has.
I would've suspected that a Nunu player could see why someone would play a champion that's suboptimal for what's generally asked for in a given role. Plus AP Ezreal does bring some pretty painful poke at a good range when he has Lich Bane going, and his all-in damage isn't bad. His waveclear is bad and he lacks CC in his kit, but those alone aren't reasons to choose not to play someone unless you're explicitly lacking that in your team comp before you get the chance to pick Ezreal. He has safety, long-ranged poke with good damage, and his all-in isn't to be underestimated. For sieging he can also amplify his ADC's damage to the tower when he doesn't have any enemy heroes in range of his W he can hit instead.
It's not the best pick, but it's not the worst either. Plus he breaks up the monotony of playing the same champs every game because they're the "best" at what you aim to do.
You would think that, but as a tank main I absolutely despise champions that completely lack crowd control. It's horribly offensive to me. Why would you ever want to play a champion that simply lacks the ability to shut down the enemy for even a single second, when there are so many champions that do the same without giving up damage? When I have an Ezreal, a Lucian, a Katarina, a Zed on my team that player has to perform so much better than everyone else because they are only relevant as long as they don't fall behind. If you fall behind with a normal champion, you can just get a little tanky and build some CDR so that your CC can set up your fed allies. As a champ with no CC, no. You are dead weight if you aren't playing well. I just do not see the draw at all in playing such feast or famine characters.
The highest highs and the lowest lows. There's a draw to playing and getting those highs moments that other champions don't give you in comparison. That's why even feast and famine champions can see resistance among some players upon a rework or proposal.
And what you said does hold true in the value of CC, but you're not going to be able to force everyone to play a champion with CC if they just don't want to play that champion, and that champion can still be highly valuable. I've never said that I wish a person on my team had more or less CC, but I have wished they had more damage to finish off CC'd targets, and champions without CC tend to bring that and if that's what your team needs (or you're first-pick) then by all means, grab someone with high damage even if they lack CC.
He also lacks waveclear outside his ult. So you need the rest of the team to make up in waveclear and cc.
His waveclear isn't that bad, since his Q is spammable and 1-shots minions once you get
, which is core on AP Ezreal.
Yeah but even killing a minion about every second just isn't fast enough to be considered waveclear to me at least.
Well, he certainly isn't Ziggs tier waveclear, but I'd give him a solid B among mid laners, A across all positions.
have significantly better waveclear than AP Ez. I'd give AP Ez a C+ in waveclear, and that's because of his ult's ability to clear other lanes as well (though that costs a large part of AP Ez's burst).
Some of those champions cannot sustain full-speed waveclear for very long (Anivia is a prime example of this), I was considering their ability to sustain their pace of clearing for a good long while when evaluating their wave clear.
Anivia should be able to clear at least 4 waves pretty easily.
4 waves is 2 minutes, not a very long time to be in lane before going oom.
If her jungler gives her blue, as they should, it will last many more waves. You'll also be stuck csing under tower against her, and she can get back to lane during that time, likely missing only a couple cs from the recall. She also almost always builds a tear, so she'll last longer each time she returns to lane.
Many junglers take the blue for themselves for various reasons (xp, gold, mana to gank). So that's not something Anivia should 100% count on getting. Building for mana sustain is something any champion can do, the opportunity cost is usually AP during laning, and perhaps CDR in mid game depending on first 2 non-boot items chosen.

After the first blue, any jungler except perhaps Fiddlesticks should be giving blue to an Anivia mid. That's just how it is. If the jungler is that bad/selfish, I suppose you have a point, but even in Gold I am typically offered blue after the first or second one. Even if the Anivia falls behind on AP early on, she'll easily clear waves with base damage, and even have kill pressure from base damages as well. She also doesn't need CDR as much because her Q and E are mainly burst, and her ult provides dps with no CDR.
