Right now thresh is the most popular pick in the game!

Giggling Granny··4 votes·692 views

Thresh Thresh Support 34.1% 50.7% 16.1%

Lee Sin Lee Sin Jungler 28.3% 46.9% 25.3%

So right now thresh have almost 51% win ratio at 34.1% pick ratio....

And riot is like "Lets nerf lee sin again"

Ok....lee sin have 46% win ratio "BUT HE HAVE A HUGE PICK RATIO and that why his win ratio is low because bad people play him"

THEN WTF is going on with thresh? having 34% pick ratio huh? IT MEAN that this champion is so broken at moment that even bad player can play him and still abuse him "But thresh is a hard champion dude no everyone can play him " THE 34% OF THE LEAGUE PLAYERS play him right now..THIS IS THE DEFINITION OF A GENERALIST CHAMPION that its so strong that even the worst players in bronze still win more than half of games...with him..

OH AND BTW his win ratio increase at 53% at platinum and higher...

Gj riot you all were crying about lee sin when thresh have this pick ratio and win ratio for over 3 years now and have never left the meta

While lee sin got gutted again and again and again and even in the last patch...which would drop him at 44-45% win ratio...

So when riot would FINALLY nerf thresh?

Thresh Base health lowered from 561 to 520

And yes, that very much is relevant when we are talking about a character with 16 base armor and no Armor per level.

What? Excuse me?

No, this is the Gameplay board.

We won't accept a nerf as "big enough" unless it destroys their ability to do whatever it is that beats us in solo queue.

Get that logic out of here!

did i do anything? no why? because yeah its a nerf that sound good but his ability to do EVERYTHING with his kit still remain...

While lee got nerfed on CDR/HP/AD/BASE DAMAGE ABILITY/MS! ALL IN 2 PATCHES

While thresh have way more win ratio he is more of a genaralist and he have a 52% win ratio with over 36% pick ratio which even increase his win ratio in higher division while lee drop in higher division...while remain at 44% at all divisions

So as you see there is a problem here beside his base hp

Remember Cait traps? That's the thing everyone whined about, right?

Instead of balancing her by nerfing her Traps, Riot decided to balance her by allowing her to still have her great sieging power, but hit her AS so she won't ever deal nearly as much damage as any other ADC in teamfight scenarios.

There are multiple ways to balance a champion, and that doesn't always need to be the obvious solution.

sorry but you are defending lee sin? if yes you are completely wrong

Giggling Granny1 votes

i dont defend anyone i just show the double standards on boards everyone is crying about lee sin even you with that comment when thresh is the one that does what lee sin does 10 times better... but everyone pretend that everything is ok

Ahristocats1 votes

what do you not understand in "we're balancing around pro right now"?

Giggling Granny1 votes

thresh is picked in pro too?? what do you mean?

Ahristocats1 votes

and he's getting nerfed?

thresh is not overbearing in pro, therefore he gets -40 hp which reduces his hp by like 60 if we take in account armor/mr, and by like 100 if we take in account colossus

and 100 hp IS A LOT in early game

Giggling Granny1 votes

Thresh is always a pick in pro play and in worlds..what do you even say? thresh is like the number 1 supp choise in pro play...he even have a skin from worlds...

And you compare one nerf? when a champion have so much pick rate and such a good win ratio? because 52%-54% win ratio with 36% PICK RATIO ITS CRAZY....

Imagine any other champion...IMAGINE

You will all cry in boards/reddit/every league of legends forum....

But of course thresh is support so we all pretend that he is balanced right? NO HE IS NOT

and maybe in 40 hp is a nerf but have you see what kind of nerfs other champions that dare to escape the balanced state?

THEY GET DESTROYED

And even lee that you all say that he is "lc$ champion"

HE got big nerfs in 2 patches and one more patch is on the road...

while thresh got 1? which dosent effect at all his kit?

Lee got NERFED TO HIS KIT AND HIS BASE STUFF..

So dont even talk about how "good " and "great" the -40 hp is...

What about his Q stun/pull/engage? 3 CC in one ability

What bout his W free safe/shield 2 ultility in one ability

What about his E? knock back knock up and slow and DAMAGE aa ALL IN ONE FREAKING ABILITY?

What about his R?

Thresh have the potential to create 8 types of CC in one champion and the potential to zone the whole enemy team

And this is not stating the power of the champion in paper its SHOWING YOU the reality of the champion...

Thresh is always a pick in pro play and in worlds..what do you even say?

inform yourself, tahm kench is number 1 and he won't be nerfed for some reasons

Also, don't start listing a kit when you ignore that CD/mana cost/range/delay/base stats matter more than a kit

Giggling Granny1 votes

so every champion is balanced because they use resources for spells...well damn you should be in the balance team of riot..no champion need nerfs because they have CD and they use some kind of resource...oh and every melee champion should become a god because they have short range

Damn son..from behalf of everyone thanks for solving the balancing problem

He makes a lot of sense. Thresh is balanced imo. Hes not gonna do damage if built properly and literally every one of his abilities are clear as day and avoidable. I dont understand the thresh hate. If anything, his winrate is high just because the ADCs that are good right now go well with him. He is extremely reliant on having good carries. it just so happens that the Pro players are good (imagine that :p)

Giggling Granny1 votes

36% pick rate....yeah everyone is pro with thresh..sure man sure..while same people like you were crying that lee sin have 48% win ratio but he have 27% pick ratio and that why he have such a bad win ratio because BAD player drag his win ratio down but lee sin is op...That was the argument...

But thresh that have 52-54% win ratio with 36% pick ratio what is the excuse?

And btw a champion power is not about how much damage they do...jesus...

Mig891 votes

ive never once complained about lee but ok Thresh is a lot like blitz where he can be useful even if behind because of his kit. Hes one of the few good supports who is good into a lot of matchups. Nothing about thresh is broken imo and i dont even play him much. Hes near useless in bronze/ silver because people dont know how to play around him.Im not one of the believers in comparing playrate with winrate to determine someone is broken though. A lot of supports wienrates go up without direct buffs and go down without direct nerfs. Hes a product of the meta and nerfing him because of it is foolish. IMO

Giggling Granny1 votes

he actually have 54% win ratio in silver/bronze/gold/plat and 56++% win ratio in higher divisions...

So there goes your argument...

Btw he is not just good in few things he does everything right and that why he is so much picked and have such a good win ratio

BabyNaix1 votes

TBH Thresh is very fun :3

Giggling Granny1 votes

yeah release xin was fun too but he got destroyed...

Nasus 100 ap=100% max hp damage was fun too but he got hotfixed

Lb-zyra one shot everyone with 40 ap was fun too but they get hot fixed

Akali 800 range dash x3 was fun but it got nerfed to the ground

You see every OP thing is fun but it dosent mean it should stay

This is the sort of thread you get when you hire cut-rate scientists. Let's look at a few things here, and then you tell me what you think:

  1. What's the role most people are forced to take in Autofill?
  2. What does Thresh offer that other support champs do not?
  3. Do we really think this is a problem with Thresh, or do we think it's a problem with other supports lacking the influential kit that that should have?

Thresh is the most picked champ, but he's the support with the 7th highest win rate right now. 6 champs do better as support than he does. So why ask for nerfs?

Giggling Granny1 votes

1-So everyone in autofill play thresh first time and they win 54% of the times? ok This mean that thresh has raw power and 0 to little weakness when even first timers can do fine with him which make him A GENARALIST champion..so he need nerfs! Thanks for proving my point

2-Thresh offers a pull/Stun/knockup-knockback/massive AOE slow/single target-AOE slow/Shield/Free escape from 1200 range...that what he offers and that just some of his kit..not his whole kit..So once again thanks for proving my point

3-Its a problem with thresh doing so good against everything and win 54% of the games while even bad players pick him 36% pick ration mean that he does everything good and there is no need to pick someone else when you can win more than half your game by just playing thresh...

Because Other support may have better win ratio but their pick ratio is 2-4% which mean that the people who play this supports are people who are MAIN this supports

While thresh have 36% pick ratio which mean even first timers and bad players do PERFECTLY fine with him and put him on the top 10 on win ratio supports...that why he need nerfs

You see you can argue with everything but not with numbers

You see you can argue with everything but not with numbers

You must be new.

We have a saying in the numbers business, figures don't lie, but liars can figure.

I'm just guessing you're a lee main who can't find the bot lane because Thresh has an incredibly volatile kit that doesn't immediately equate to wins. Missed hooks, untaken lanterns, and a melee tank that can't execute minions with the targon line. He's in no way the safest pick, and what you're more likely to find with a nerfed Thresh is that brainless champions that make it a lot easier to win with will surface. They still won't have buffed Lee since he's a hypercarry who went years without meaningful change, and you'll be back here screaming about Sona.

I'm happy for you an your engineering degree, but when you're a hammer the whole world looks like a nail. This isn't a nail. Trust me, I'm a swiss army knife.

Giggling Granny1 votes

54% win ratio 36% pick ration

This numbers cant lie no matter what argument try to bring..this numbers indicate that no matter what you do or try to do against him or with him he will still win 54% of the times

and he would be played by someone who is bad and not even main thresh

Numbers cant lie son

RookPusher1 votes

Ok, but you're not taking his role into account. He's got a 54% win rate, which is 7th for his role.

I'll frame this another way: Thresh has abilities that allow him to max the benefit of his team: e.g. Thresh throws a lantern after the laning phase. That means 4 people have the option to take it. Meaning the chances it gets wasted are low. People can also accidentally pull it off.

Conversely, people throwing shields and heals often only hits one of them. And if you haven't sussed out who the dope is, you lose. A 54% win rate in the support role isn't enough to be the best. Its an effect of a good support, with more AOE abilities being able to effect the game more.

Sion has the best win rate for 3% play rate. Because only 3% of the population can achieve that win rate. A good thresh can effect most of the game, and boost good players more often because of his kit. Nerfing that isn't going to resolve the problem unless you completely gut him to the point of either the lantern existing for 1.5 seconds, or having the box disappear after one hit. Which is the solution to his more global effect on the game.

What you're mad about is the support role not carrying and still having a high win rate, which is why Lee is in here at all. If Lee doesn't carry, he's dead weight. When a support doesn't carry - which they aren't supposed to do - they allow everyone else to carry.

This is a weak link/strong link argument. Thresh works in a weak link game (like LoL) better than Lee who wants to be a strong link player. And that's why your numbers, which are accurate, are wrong. Becuase you're applying them to the wrong location. Lee got nerfed because he could snowball. Thresh doesn't get nerfed because he raises all tides. If you don't have a globo-buff support, then the risk you run is not enhancing the right players at the right time.
