Overreaction. Having the name "TheHolocaustNeverHappened" or the like is truth denying. Riot doesn't ban for denying the truth, and this isn't tied to racism or hate speech exactly. Neo Nazi don't deny the Holocaust because it's their pride. Idiots deny it.

Denying the Holocaust isn't against the Summoner's Code, as far as I'm concerned.

He might have said something inappropiate over chat, but that's up to Riot to verify.

... To clear a misunderstanding, no-one is banned instantly, it is a process of incremental increases in a punishment resulting in a ban if there isnt any change in behavior. Additionally a single report rarely results in a punishment (some circumstances barred of course in extreme events) a punishment will generally result after multiple games of u being reported stack up to a certain threshold. Also, usually a game will only register the first report and not have the others weighted in in the total stack (however multiple reports in one game can make an alert to get ur acct manually reviewed under certain circumstances). You can report the player under the offensive name category, as well as the griefing/flaming/toxic/rude. Unless you actually have access to the count, or are able to literally track every game and see the conversations, you won't know whether or not the person is continuously toxic, you also won't know whether or not he/she has been punished unless the acct has stopped activity.

I mean, you got the name giggling granny... I can only imagine all of the horrors as to why she's giggling. Nuuuuu.

On a serious note, I don't think the name is breaking any summoner's code like others said. I don't think stating a viewpoint on an historical event is a bannable offense either. Even if they somehow find it funny or not... that's just people for you. At some point, it has to be mentioned and after awhile, it's going to be turned into a joke. Just like 9/11, just like the KKK lynching so forth and so on.

Humanity has to move on at some point.

Hey, Giggling Granny, thanks for bringing this issue to light.

Sometimes people find ways to hide offensive phrases in their usernames from the system. If you feel a username was inappropriate, the correct course of action is to report the player after the game, or submit a support ticket to Riot.

Riot does not tolerate offensive names, and if you do your part as a player to point out offensive summoner names Riot will do theirs to ensure those people will not be permitted to display controversial or vulgar phrases that contradict what they agreed to in the Summoner's Code.

If somebody is also speaking vulgarly in chat, a well-placed report will draw attention to their account and a punishment will be handed out accordingly. It is our job as the players to keep our community clean.

Wow that's pretty stupid.

denying the holocaust might be stupid but its not banworthy because its not objectively racist.

70% of EU doesn't mean anything. There are still countries where freedom of speech has not yet been removed lol. I wouldn't ban him for the name but the other stuff he said and did

People have opinions, get over it. As bullshit as it is to claim those things you cant just around telling on people your whole life. Your going to have to grow a spine and learn to shrug things off.

ModPeriscope6/21/2017, 10:10:33 PM1 votes

I mean, if the name itself is what you're going to post about, I think that's ok. But if you posted that person's name coupled with your account of what he did, then it's naming and shaming. If you reported him in post-game, then you've done what you could.

"hurr durr name shaming"

You misspelled "Hodor"

Submit a support ticket, that will draw Rioter attention much more quickly than complaining on the boards.
